I guess someone mentioned "the godfather" trilogy: he's right.
Besides "a fistful dollars"- "for a few dollars more " and "the good the bad and the ugly" are often refferd as the "Dollars" trilogy, in Sergio Leone works.
And, "back from the future" trilogy ?

Oh I forgot: you can consider the three Frankenstein movies with Boris Karloff as the monster the trilogy:
"Frankenstein", "Bride of Frankenstein" and "Son of Frankenstein"

I voted for the original Star Wars movies, but I have to say that (despite my adoration for those films) I think the Godfather trilogy beats them easily.

I'd have to say the Ernest films represent the pinnacle of cinema.

I'm split between Back To the Future and Indiana Jones.

I'd like to change my vote from LoTR to DIE HARD! Bruce Willis is teh bestest!

and yes Trigger11, that movies paved the way to "modern" special effects.

LotR, hands down. I like the books just a little bit better, but the movies are still made of epic win.
I also love the original Star Wars trilogy, and what I've seen of the Matrix (about half of the first movie so far- we're currently watching it in Philosophy class).

LOTR I enjoyed the most out of them.

For no specific reason is it my favourite, I just enjoyed it. And plus it was made in NZ which is where I live :)
