It ALL looks like cartoon porn to me! :D ummm, not that I have actually EVER SEEN cartoon porn

It's called Hentai and you don't want to.

I'm pretty into Japan and it's culture nowadays, read a lot of manga and have fairly good collection of TV animes and OVAs. Also love the culture, mythology and history. I like some of the food and really don't care too much about fashion from any nation.

I can speak the lanugage pretty well also.

Yes, that (hentai), but apart from that, the real stuff :P

I like many Japanese things.
I watch anime and have a few series of manga that I collect. I love Japanese films. Both the classics like Kurosawa's films and newer films. The pacing is much more relaxed. Netflix has quite a few Japanese films. I have been watching Japanese TV shows I have downloaded. I know it is still TV and not real life, but I like examining the cultural differences.
I love sushi, miso, unagi don buri, sake, matcha, and even like natto. I basically have not had any japanese food that I didn't like.
I have a pair of tatami slippers. I love the feel of the tatami mat on your feet, it is like getting a massage. If I ever get my own house I am definitely going to get tatami mats put in at least one of the rooms. I also have a pair of geta that I occasionally wear with the yukata that my mom make from scratch based on traditional kimono patterns.
I should really work on learning more nihongo, demo I have a hard time finding people that I can practice with.
I
want to learn karate for the mental focus, physical strengthening, and self confidence aspects, but I haven't been able to find any place around me that teaches it.

I love Japanese stuff! :D I listen to a lot of J-rock (particularly Gackt, Chachamaru, Miyavi, and An Cafe) and I adore manga and anime. I also like the food (I love pocky and sushi, and can just about make most kinds of sushi that don't require a bamboo mat :P ), and have been trying to teach myself Japanese (I can read hiragana and I'm trying to learn katakana, and I can speak a bit of Japanese). :) So yep, I'm a Japanophile and proud of it! ^-^

Omg, I love Miyavi so much. Nhh.. do you have a GJ? Or an LJ? I'm kind of like *omg clings* when I find other Miyavi fans, hee. I can make the bamboo mat variety sushi, it's the other kinds I struggle with! Tiny clumsy hands, heeh. When I have a job my first priority is to save for a home study Japanese course! I will admit that I don't like Gackt, but alot of my friends do and I have no problem with that, I just like my boys a little messier ;) And not a fan of his style of music. I love Dir en Grey, too, and some of the female artists like Salyuu. I mainly listen to her because of the film 'Riri Sushu no Subete' (all about lily chou-chou), she played Lily Chou-Chou (the artist they're all obsessed with in the film) and the soundtrack blows me away.

I really hope to be able to go to Japan on the JET scheme, I've heard such great things from people who've done it.

I have LJ, and my username is Vulpintissence. I admittedly don't use it much, but I'll try to use it more (I've been meaning to for ages, but I can never think of much to say there :P ). I've never heard of Salyuu, but I do like Dir en Grey (at least as people, I've been trying so hard to get into their music since they seem so cool as people, but I just can't! ;^^ Still, at least watching their backstage videos is fun!). And Miyavi is adorable, and such an amazing guitarist! ^-^ Have you heard his latest songs with his new band?

No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women
No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark
Everyone around me is a total stranger
Everyone avoids me like a cyclone ranger
That's why I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so

Good fortune,

- Icarus is Not Japanese

I wouldn't call myself a total Japanophile but I love certain things about the country's culture. I'm just picky. XD I adore Dir en grey ("Obscure" might be my most favorite song ever, definitely in the top 5), and generally like Moi dix Moix. I really liked the show Fullmetal Alchemist and the film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (though I don't like the FF games because I hate the turn based combat). The film Casshern is one of my favorite movies, too. I also like Japan's gothic lolita fashion. Just the darker Japan stuff in general is very cool.

On pervy stuff: Whiteskunk, those Megumi-Who gifs look like they were also the models for the entire gameplay of the "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball" series...lol. Also, I can't say I understand the tentacle pr0n...but whatever...lol.

I live where there are many Japanese and the culture is evident here. I also really like it (but not obsessed) - the food, culture, art, etc. I even have some Asian-influenced outfits.

But I don't understand anime or current Japanese fashion, and the desire to all be alike.

Just teasing "greenblue" with some. . .'ahem', gifs. Personally, I don't much care for hentai stuff. Mainstream can be racy enough. Bouncing around in bikinis is as far as I care to go viewing wise.

As for hentai, I had seen a few of them, I like some of them, but I personally like ecchi better :P pure hentai tends to get boring actually.

I guess I am, though I don't care much particularly for the Japanese pop culture - the quirky subcultures, now, those are fun. I have to say I've found that the people in the EGL and Guro circles are quite interesting.

I'm a bit of a fan of the Jap horror and yakuza films. I like some anime but I'm a bit discriminating as to what I'll watch. The most "normal" anime I've seen in a long time was Rozen Maiden, which I was surprised that I actually liked.

I like some of the darker Japanese rock - yes, Dir en Grey (hehe) also some of the lesser known groups like D'espairs Ray which IMO is really underrated. Of course I also like European symphonic black metal as well.

Someday I want to achieve Miyavi's level of sexy-man awesomeness and end up with hundreds of female stalkers. :D
