The only kids show I can clearly remember from the 70's is Romper Room..which totally blew my mind...because I totally took it literally...(the magic mirror and whatnot)...kids are expected to at that age.
I have a vague hazy memory of there being a Beatles cartoon series.....and also the Jackson 5 had a cartoon series...I think.....
I have more memories of 80's kids shows....mostly cartoons.....but there were exceptions like "Kids Incorperated" and "Great Space Coaster"
I was a big fan of "Pinwheel" on cable...maybe that was a little later....

I have been trying to remember the name of the cartoon that had a real-life segment that was about this 80's band that was sucked into another dimension where they were cartoons...and the villains were big anthromorphic cats.....

OMG. I remember the cartoon version of Journey to the Center of the Earth during the late 60s or so. Roger Ramjet around 68 or 69. And the Mighty Heroes(Tornado Man, Strong Man, Diaper Man, etc) during the early 60s. There was also HR Pufinstuf and Curiousity Shop back around 1970.

I thought I was the only one who remembered "The Mighty Heroes"-(you forgot "Rope Man and Cuckoo Man"), "Cool McCool", etc. Another was ths "Space Cadets" but that was more the 60's. Wasn't one about a teen werewolf and friends called "Fang Face". A trip down memory lane. "Shazam" the Genie, "Frankenstein Junior" and of course "Jonny Quest"

NBC show, I know that much. Can't recall the villains, just the group of teenagers who played music. They were live-action, then would disappear into another reality (a little like shrinking that goes on in movie 'Innerspace') as sketchy drawings, memory of it is vague but reminds me of style of A-ha's "Take on Me" video. I could be blending unrelated things together, rusty old brain connections I've not thought about for so long.
Great Space Coaster-was that one with 2 adults (the guy & girl who sang & played guitar) & 3 people dressed up in huge animal costumes (owl & frog or turtle & hippo) ? Plus the smaller puppet creature that looked like 'Animal' from Muppets but was creepier ? Maybe I'm thinking of another show-these things were on at like 6 or 6:30 a.m. Saturday mornings.
Remember the 'Harlem Globetrotters' crime-fighting cartoon, and the CBS block of video-game themed programs such as Q-Bert (which I never even played, I just watched the episodes). Sorry, that gets into 1980's shows & this is a 1970's thread-my childhood straddled both decades.
Liked the old Jonny Quest episodes, not the newer non-scary ones.

"A Bob Clam-pett cartooooOOOOON" Dishonest John was my fave. "DJ you dirty guy!" "Nyah-ah-aahhh!"
I remember a couple of other characters on the show: the guy with the funnel cap who sucked oil out of everything, and Snorky the mud-pie maker. Didn't they also have Hercules and the Guided Muscle?
I used to think Bob was related to Jed Clampett.

Shazam wasn't his name; it was the magic word to change Billy Batson into Captain Marvel. It was used to refer to him because of copyright issues over the name with Marvel Comics' Captain Marvel.
From Wikipedia:
S - Wisdom of Solomon
H - Strength of Hercules
A - Stamina of Atlas
Z - Power of Zeus
A - Courage of Achilles
M - Speed of Mercury
