Because we have some of the worst roads, and are among the highest in dropout rates in the united states.

the east is super inexpencive. i was looking at erie pennsyilvania and you can get a 1 bedroom apartment there for like $350! man those are some hot 1990s prices out here. your lucky to find a room to rent in somebodys house for that kindof money :(

I don't particularly like my state, but the winters are awesome...summers really suck though.

Wildlife
Very Diverse cultures
People here are very accepting and try to "help" each other out not too many people here to start with.
No state tax, actually no sales tax either here in Anchorage.
PFD's (in a few more days every man, woman, and child in the state gets $1,654.00) different amount every year.
I live in a place that other people dream of vacationing in. I feel really lucky to be here and will hopefully never live anywhere else.

I could go on and on but just look at a picture sometime and you'll know why. Also the Matanuska Valley grows really great veggies and stuff. :D

I must say I am SOOO envious of you, my dream state is Alaska, I would just be afriad if I vacationed their I would never return home :?

Anyways, for NY:

Adirondack Park (which I know much of)
The mountains I like to go up on
I grew up here
Lots of undeveloped territory
Lake Ontario
Plenty of hiking trails

heh... i actually struggled to think of more then 3, hehehe
