I would like to meet some of the U.K. members of my cat site. They are really nice. One even sent me a Roger Bannister commemorative coin of the 50th anniversary of the four-minute mile along with a Christmas card that is an annual Siamese Internet Cat Club tradition.

 That sounds like a great holiday... And I've been to the Tate modern, I love it. Best museum I've ever been to.

Good point! I am still so new to the WP I haven't heard of any meetups.

Anyway, thanks for the ideas. I think my friend and I will definitely head up north sometime, and also try to make it to Ireland and Scotland. We're taking trains and planes all the way, though; I love driving but I can only drive on the right (as opposed to left) side of the road!

I recommend Snowdonia and would also plan a trip to York.

But there are many beautiful places all over the place.

I loved the UK when I went! I'd have to say my favorite country overall was Scotland and I also absolutely loved Wales and England! I wasn't too fond of Ireland though. But in Scotland, there was this one place they had called the Time Capsule (I don't know what town it was though), but when I was there, I had the best day of my life. Ever.

The Time Capsule is a leisure centre in Coatbridge near Glasgow. Glasgow itself and Edinburgh are both cities popular with tourists. In England,I'd certainly endorse iceb's recommendation of York.
