I speak one...English.

How I would hate to have to learn a whole other one.

Just one well-English

I spoke German almost exclusively until I was six, but I lost the ability to speak it. I only remember a limited number of words from my childhood (counting, names of animals, etc.)

I took two years of Spanish and got straight As, but have a hard time understanding native speakers if they speak too fast. They also have certain slang terms I don't know.

English is my first language, but I study both Japanese(Nihongo) and Spanish(Espanol) and am at a basic level in both.

I know English, I know a little bit of Spanish, and I'm learning Japanese, if that counts at all.

French is my native language, and I also speak English. I learned Spanish for a while, but forgot all of it.

Only English so far. I learned some Spanish when I was in high school, but I've probably forgotten most of it by now. I know a few words from other languages, but that's about it.

German (native), English (the language I think in ;)), French (advanced), Spanish (basics). I'm learning Italian right now and after that I think I'll learn Japanese if I have the time.

Keshi ni ye yingguo le ma? (But you write in English, too?) Nide yingguo hua zhen bucuo. (Your English isn't bad at all.)

Let's see: English (native); Latin, French, Russian (possibly fluent in each--haven't practiced much for some time); a few words of Mandarin Chinese (studied it once), Korean, and archaic Icelandic. I had to look up the verb in the Chinese above; I couldn't remember the entire phrase for "to write"(i.e., verb and object, like "shuo hua" for "speak' [literally "speak spoken language"]).

1... barely.

I have learned a few words in Spanish, German, and Japanese, and forgotten them almost instantly.

I spent 3 years in Germany, got up to like 12 words, butchered all of them!

Um, do computer languages count? :P

How about my son's special autistic language, which I've dubbed Wolfese.

I used to know Latin and German pretty well, but I haven't used either of them in many years (well over a decade). I'm planning on picking up Icelandic, but not until I move to Iceland and can immerse myself in use of the language (materials Icelandic are just too hard to come by).

I've always been fascinated by the subtle differences in dialect between American English and British English; I probably know a lot more British English than typical American English speakers.

Good fortune,

- Icarus is fluent in Win32...

I only speak English fluently, but I know Spanish well enough to translate it if I'm reading it. I can't translate in my head fast enough to keep up with speech though.

Other than that, I have phrases here and there in a bunch of languages.
