No. Farmers have suffered greatly since the ban on hunting with dogs, and it was a sport in the same way that F1 racing and Rugby are sports. The ban was brought in to appease animal rights terrorists and various legitimate animal rights groups, who would ban meat if they had their way.
Foxes can be very harmful to farmers' livelihoods, and hunting is a sport just like any other sport. I don't see it as sick or wrong.

I know one farmer (sheep & possibly cows IIRC) who thought the hunt was a PITA and caused more problems than it solved. I think this opinion was given pre-ban. He actually gave me a fox carcass when i was a teenager for my skull collection.

Ill check tomorrow for an update.

I have so many views on this subject.
1 I hate foxes because they killed all 11 of my ducks. I didn't take that very well.
2 I have a problem with some of the people who take part, not all, but the ones who think that they have more right to be in the countryside than anyone else (I live here! Get out of my way! Learn to drive that horsebox, then take it on the road!)
3 I work nights, so this time of year I get little sleep because the hounds are out.
4 If an entire ban was enforced on all hunting, what would happen to the hounds? These animals, as has already been stated, have strong bloodlines and are bred solely as pack animals to follow scent. Making them all house pets would not only be extremely cruel to them, but would also flood the dog market.
5 Deer do not get out the way, even when you honk at them.
6 Grouse and pheasant hunting has a nasty twist to it, in that the birds are bred specifically to be shot from the sky. I know this because there is a pheasant farm visible from my window.
7 Animal rights activists who go around releasing creatures like mink from farms into the wild (an example) are worse than any hunt, because the animals are not acclimatised to their new surroundings.
8 Don't try and run over a badger, or even if its an accident - they will break your car. And walk away.
9 If an animal is a pest, it needs controlling, not wiping out or being mothered.
10 If you have read all of this post, and realised, despite me saying I work nights, that I am sat here typing at night, there is a reason I shall put elsewhere.

Anyway, the countryside, as old fashioned as this sounds, has a lot of its own regulations that politicians know nothing about. Its an age old problem, yokels versus townies, and there will never be a happy medium until a popular politician who is unbiased toward either side steps up. Hmm, can't see them anywhere...

Just don't get me started on Right to Roam.

cant get an update, but ive remembered some of the things he said.

1. the prescence of the hunt worry the livestock.

2. The dog-fox is not such a great problem to farmers, because he will only attempt to kill the odd animal he requires for his family.
However, if the dog-fox is killed then the vixen (for some reason) will not show restraint and go on a killing spree.
