Now there is an iPod video nano. Its like a little square with a screen. I find my self oddly disturbed by it for some reason I don't know or aware of.

I want an iPod. They're too expensive though.

For some odd reason, I dislike iPods and prefer others like the Sansas, Zens, my avatar which is a Yepp T9, and many other non iPods. I don't even like Apple for crying out loud.

Yeah, I am prejudice against those ipod nanos for how thin they are, I feel like I am going to break them when I hold them. I hate that touchpad wheel thing also, I like my sansa mp3 player cause it has a real wheel that really moves.

My brother has one of those new iPod Shuffles. All I have is a crappy MP3 player. I'm not even allowed to download more music to put on it, thanks to nanna's new ISP. :(

The Click Wheel I agree is hard to use. I have a 3G 15GB iPod:

All the buttons are touch sensitive. The headphone port is right in the middle on the top, not in some obscure location on the bottom. The buttons being separate from the wheel also make it less likely to accidentally hit a button while you're scrolling through things. Plus, you can install iPod Linux on it. No device is complete without Linux ;)

I want an iPod. I notice there are a bunch of much-cheaper knock-offs. Now, I'm not interested in podcasting or video, I just want sraight up music so I can shop without losing my sanity (my own noise versus theirs) and have something to listen to while exercising. Should I go with Apple or are the others just as good?

the Ipod wasn't the first MP3 players, so their not cheap knockoffs they are just less poplular versions. the Ipod is great though, depending on how many songs you have, the nano would be great, since you don't want videos if you go to the website, the previous nano generation can be ordered there. but if you need to hold more than 1000 songs, you may want a video, the new versions are called classics, there great fun, you can download gamess and play them. but you probably don't want them. if you want to be cheap, the lesser brands work fine, just ask how many songs an Mp3 player has before you buy it, if you have a rough idea as to what your current musical library holds, you'll be just fine. 8) :D

3 years ago i bought an iriver H320 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iriver_H300_series), its not as hip and cool as an ipod but the quality is said to be better, and i'm still very pleased with this mp3player, i never had another one so i cant really compare (this one won't break, its to good :p)
