ok... this is starting to get icky now.

Give your pillow to someone else... ask them to listen.

If there's something alive inside it - get a new pillow... It's not healthy.

Mice are cute - really cute - but their droppings are toxic (I read that somewhere - or maybe I made it up - dunno).

Rats aren't cute but I figure you'd know if you had one in your pillow.

I'm not going into the bugs and cockies territory...

...new pillow.

Ok, during my sleep last night, I heard the ''Blood and Heart'' sound. It is COMPLETELY different to the scratching sound.

It's also not sounds being magnified. It is the excact same sound every night.

I doubt anything is alive in it either, as my pillows have been changed before and anything would be dead by now. Not to mention that the sound is ALWAYS the same, in the same spot. And I only hear it with my ear to the spot, like a scratch against the pillow. If I move a little bit away from that spot or move my head up an inch, the sound completely vanishes.

This is...wierd. 8O

When your ear is up against a pillow it distorts sound. I had the same conundrum, it turns out it was the friction form my eyelashes on the pillow case. I thought it was a mouse. I have heard and seen mice scratching. That would support the idea of it disappearing when you move your head. Also when you are alert trying to listen to it you aren't blinking so it will stop, much like a naughty mouse that doesn't want to get caught stealing the cheese.

The heart beat can make other noises because it causes your whole body to move. The more you press up again your bead the more you bed shakes because a bed is like a suspension system. That can cause all sorts of sounds. There are many things going on. You are breathing, expiring, passing wind, etc. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean you can’t hear them.

I've not heard of a pillow that is good at conducting/reflecting sound, most likely it distorts the sound make it sound more alien. It is usually a dampener but when you ear is right up against it you are getting a lot of surface sound. So it can actually be quite loud. Eyelashes rubbing against a pillow case sounds like scratching.

Have you ever tried humming while you’re underwater? When you’re in the bath put your ears under water but keep your nose and mouth above water. Try humming gently. It sounds louder and more uniform. I really like doing that :D

Is it your eyelashes rubbing on the pillow?

I hear things in my pillow also. I thought the noises were dust mites so I washed and dried all of my pillows. The noise stopped for about 8 weeks and then returned. No one hears the noise but me. It sounds more like scratching and not my own blood flow. Sorry to resurrect this topic but it has been bugging (lol) me.
