I do not wear glasses, but I once got a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses (worth $150-$200) for a cruise, which were made to be some of the most comfortable to wear, but still, I HATED them! Everything about them bugged me, the weight on my nose, the holders on my ears, the smudges and specks, ect ect ect.

Itv worn glasses since I was 2 and I'm like viska, I don't even notice half the crap I get on my lenses, I try to make sure I clean them once a day, but I just use a paper towel and water. I need to go get new ones (last time was 5 years ago) but the whole ordeal is something I prefer to put off for as long as possible. It's getting close to bifocal time for me also.

Yeah, you have to be very careful with the compulsive cleaning because you can get tiny scratches that are maddening as well.
I use a spray bottle with a special lens cleaner in it, and a very soft handkerchief.
One other maddening thing (I have a very strong prescription and bad astigmatism as well, so this is very important to me) is if the frames are not adjusted perfectly. The people at the eyeglass place never get it quite right...so I have to readjust...and readjust...

Do you have any vintage Horn Rimmed frames? I was wondering if you could mail them to me. I've decided to stick with glasses. I can't even put eyedrops into my eyes, without flinching.

I've just started using bifocals, and it is annoying. I keep noticing the line, and when I look down, I have to try to look out of the top half of them instead of the bottom half. And I do get that annoying reflection of my eyes on sunny days, even when I wear shades that fit over my glasses. The only good thing, I don't have to lean so close to the computer screen.

My vision without them is just blurry enough to make my eyes work harder than I can handle and I get aches.

Does anyone else hate those little smudges, spots, flecks of something, or reflections of your eyeballs, on your glasses?

I can't seem to get mine clean enough sometimes and I think someday I'll have wiped away the lenses just from trying to get them 'clean' enough.
It's only been maybe half a year now that I've been wearing them so regularly.
Do you find you get used to things on the lenses and ignore them?
I keep my glasses in a hard case most of the time and use that soft chamois-like cloth that came with the glasses.

I keep my glasses on one of those cords so they hang about my neck.
Since I have a beard, sometimes those little skin flakes fall off onto the lenses, or a hair, water, etc. then I have to clean them all over again..... IT'S MADDENING... sometimes.

I just need a little confirmation that everything will be alright! :(

Do you have a spray? It works really well to get them off!

*is reminded to look at glasses*

Not too bad for once.

Oh yeah, the question. 8O

Yeah, mine are kinda special sometimes . . . especially around lunchtime or during handbell practice for some reason.

I wear glasses 99.9% of the time while awake and really you get so used to dirt and dust and grime on them that the brain just filters it all out.

Like for example right now my glasses are ridiculously filthy, but I don't notice until it gets really bad or someone points out or I remember to clean them.

I can see how taking them off & putting them on frequently would make that different (because your vision goes between obscured and clear) though.

Special lens wipes work well. Isopropyl alcohol and cotton wipes seem to work as well, though technically you're not supposed to use those. Tissues are the most awful. They leave so much lint that it's not any cleaner.

Also, polycarbonate lenses are awesome! Lightweight, scratch and impact resistant, and works just as well :)
