A friend of mine thinks orchestral compositions into being in his head and can apparently hear them.. but has little clue how to go about writing them. Bound to be pretty frustrating. :o

I hear music in my head, all the time.

Don't worry, that's just a song stuck in your head. When this happens, I'll think of a less annoying one and it will usually switches :P

Wow! lol Me too. If I'm tired, at the point where I'm almost drifting off to sleep, I can either hear music inside my head like it's on the outside, or I can hear people's voices like they're talking in the other room, even if I know perfectly well they're not even in the same city. I like to try to make sense of what they're saying, in case it turns out that I'm psychic. lol Maybe we all are? :)

No synaesthesia is when you smell colors or taste music.

I have tasted music before, and it is delicious.

That happens to most people I think. Sometimes it's just a little peice of the song looping over and over. It does help to force yourself to think up a different song. One time I had to get up really early in the morning for work and I was very tired. For some reason I had the Mary Poppins song "Stay Awake" stuck in my head and I didn't even notice until I started singing it to myself while I was getting ready. Then I thought "Why the heck am I singing that to myself?! This isn't helping at all!"

Trust me, looping songs in your head is not uncommon no matter how vivid. Sometimes I hear entire songs in detail, and once in a while I'll even have most of a movie playing in my head. It's usually when I'm bored at work doing something monotonous(that I don't like). Sometimes I make my own mental music and movies, which I guess is a little unusual. It makes the day go by faster when I have to do stuff that I don't want to do, but have relatively few distractions.

Happens to me a great deal of the time. I'll be sitting there and all of a sudden a song pops up into my head. What makes it annoying is trying to block it out. I haven't succeeded with it yet. No, if it was scizophrenea, it wouldn't be that common. There's another name for this term you talk about but I can't remember. I'm too lazy to look it up. A lot of ppl have this some more so than others. Unless you start hearing other things that aren't real then I'd be concerned.

If its a particularly bad song people tend to call those earworms. Anything else though I'm not sure on.

That would be an extraordinary talent, except for the bad music, I wouldn't worry, alot of people get real stupid sounds stuck in their heads, who hasn't gotten a dumb commercial song repeating in their head, I get that stupid Chrisco music repeating once in while, your not scizo
