I have a friend who looks pretty good in dreadlocks and it fits her personality. It's not my thing though.

I think dreads is the only thing I haven't tried with my hair. I've tried everything from shaved clean to longer than shown in my avatar. I donated that hair shown in the avatar, but it's starting to get longish again. Lemme see... I can get the front about an inch away from my mouth.

Maybe I'll try dreads this time. Of course I'll need to let it get a lot longer, at least twice as long, but I suppose that just requires time. The fact that I'm white as milk will only serve to amuse me; I want to look just like Captain Jack Sparrow.

And I've already got the cutlass...

Good fortune,

aw, man...if I could get away with dreads, I would so get them. Unfortunatly I have very pale skin. I think they look better on people with somewhat darker skin.

How does skin colour make a hair style bad or good? it's all just colour and hair.

Kattoo13,
Hair looks very nice,it looks like the way fire moves/flows.

I only wear silver and never gold jewery , buckles watches because gold just looks better on darker skin. Its all about asthetics and how colors and forms react to each other theres a science to it.

I have dreads . . . . on a wig block in my studio.Never know when I'll need them.

I am way too long in the tooth for dreads but on younger people they can look rather stylish if the rest of the outfit goes with them. Even young white people it can look OK. Older people with them remind me of some of those accentric Indian gurus. Can anyone imagine gray dreads??

I had corn rows at one point and I'm white, people said it looked surprisingly good considering that I was white but I had them primarily as a joke.

I don't have dreads because after growing my hair out for six years I'd rather not destroy it, but I do put braids in my hair every so often. which by the end of the month or two end up looking more like dreads. XD

Image

I think that was taken a week or so into the last time I braided it.

Yes I can...In fact dreads have been around since the dawn of time. They have been worn in many cultures, even the sadhus of india. It has only been since the popularity of bob marley and the rastafarian culture, that people seem to only associate dreads with black people. not the case at all.. :)

luckily i keep my hair clean. it's a misconception that dreads are dirty. i mean yes, the scalp can dry out but the hair style doesn't dictate that.
