That's not real Chicago deep dish.

I wouldn't mind trying an authentic Chicago deep dish, just the stuff we get here is nasty stuff, the last one I got had a hair in it, at least it wasn't the short curly type. Its my plan since becoming a truck driver, to sample pizza from all over the US and Canada, New York and Chicago are on the top of my list when I start making trips south, I hear they call them Tomato Pies in New Jersey, is that true

We only have one place in Calgary thats any good, Pizza Bob's, everything else is Chicago deep dish, and tastes like dough. In Edmonton we had a better choice, Rose Bowl Pizza, Funky Pickle, and Santo's which was the most authentic Neapolitan pizza.
Next year I am taking a trip up to Inuvik, NWT, and have a pizza at 3:00am, in broad day light, it will be the strangest place I have ever had one.

Are you going to keep a journal about it? You could publish it.

I'd love to go to New York City and try some of those little pizzerias.

Chicago!! ! I had a Chicago-style stuffed pizza (a pie-like deep-dish pizza that is like an enormous calzone) from a local take-n-bake pizza shop once and it was awesome.

New York style (you can also get a lot of new york style pizza in new jersey), with the occasional boston style pizzeria not that bad either. I don't like chicago as much, but thats a personal preference...

Portland has good pizza.

Pizza Schmizza and Hot Lips sell great pizza,
but the only problem is Pizza Schmizza's pizzas are expensive as hell!

Escape from New York Pizza on NW 23rd has great, cheap pizza
becaus they have only two options: pepperoni or cheese.

I love deep-dish pizza :D, so I guess I'll say Chicago (even though I've never been there :P). I don't get it often around here, so it's sort of a treat.

I've never actually eaten Pizza in NYC, however I've had really good pizza in Boston.

Also, here are/ were some of the really good places back home in Maine.

Aunti Leoni's ( Their Westbrook store is still open, but they closed both of their Portland years ago.

Pizza Joint (Still very much open)

Cheesecake Pizza (Closed, early 1990's)

Seattle is actually not too bad, we don't have our own style, but we have several local chains that are quite good, such a Pagliacci and Mad pizza. Currently, I'm hooked on a place called Tutta Bella that has some sort of actual Italian traditional pizza making certification, it's really good. They make very thin crust, stick to traditional toppings, and use a very hot wood fired oven, it's quite delicious. Unfortunately they don't deliver, so I have to make the trek when I get the craving for them.
