been caught stimming once, when I was 5

I don't stim when I read thread titles in the forums, but now I am shaking my right leg. While the computer was booting up I spun the chair back and forth. . . . .in a public library. . . .*sighes*

Rocking my hand back and forth on the edge of my laptop, using my little finger as a pivot pushed in to a firewire port.

I was quite surprised to find myself doing anything: if the thread hadn't raised the question, I probably would not have realised I was doing anything.

Hand flapiing, and this weird new stim I do using only my fingers. I make a typing motion in the air.

Lol, I think sometimes I stop stimming to read something: when I read the first post on this thread I wasn't stimming at all! Still, the fact that my left hand was tucked up on my chest with my fingers resting on my necklace chain gives me a fair idea of what I had been doing seconds before! :wink:

My mother (NT) makes a typing motion when she talks to people while sitting down.

I´m sitting in the sofa with my left leg over the right one and my laptop on top of it and I´m bumping my left foot to the underside of the table.

But I´m sure I´m not stimming :)

I find I do this often, but strangely enough I'm still able to focus my eyes and read normally.

Most of the time there's some sort of foot or leg jiggling/shaking going on, also subtle finger or hand movements but that happens more from stress... and general fidgeting. (Not just now, everything applies almost all the time. The only thing I've found that slows me down enough so I can stay completely still and relax is alcohol. Oh, and car rides too. I think being in a moving vehicle must be a stim because of the effect it's always had on me.)
