Near death experiences (have you had any?)
About a year later, I had a friend overdose right in front of me. I was not able to bring him back.

What did you (and your friend) overdose on? I'm really sorry for your horrible experience with your friend! *HUGS*

I've nearly drowned by trying to save my step sister from drowning.
I was at the pools with her and we both weren't very good swimmers, but I was a bit better than her as she just used to sink. She thought one end of the pool was shallow when it was actually deep so she jumped in. I turned around and realised that she was in the water not coming up for air, so stupidly, I jumped in trying to save her forgetting that I couldn't swim well either! She grabbed onto my leg from underneath the water and tried to pull herself up. In the meantime she pulled me under and I didn't have a chance to take a breath before hand. I was under the water thrashing around now trying to get her off my leg and save my own life. I actually recall stopping thrashing around eventually and letting my step sister climb ontop of me to get to the surface. I could hold my breath no longer so just gave up trying. I then woke on concrete, coughing up loads of water and people telling me that it's ok. I was 13 at the time. To this day, I now avoid swimming. I'm terrified of it.
Once I also tried to kill myself by taking 1 and a half packets of anti-depressant medication. After I took it I panicked and text my neighbour. She told me to go over to her house. When I got there I don't think she believed me because she told me to sit down on the couch, watch tv and that she'll keep watch of me to see if anything happens. After an hour she said i looked like I was high on drugs...then just over an hour later I blacked out. She woke me up, then called my mum and told her what had happened. My mum came home and took me to the hospital. I was at risk of having a fatal heart arythmia (so the doctors told my mum). I had a blood pressure of 170/105 and irregular heart rate of 180bpm. I drank this nasty liquid charcoal, had an appointment with a psychiatrist at the hospital and was able to go home the next morning.
I've also nearly died by chocking on a piece of sausage (back when I ate meat). I was at my dads house and eating sausages for dinner. I remember not being able to breathe and couldn't talk to tell anyone that I was choking. I sat at the table for over 1 minute before my dad noticed that I was going blue and almost ready to pass out. He asked me if I was choking and all I could do was clench my throat. He gave me the heil mic menovore 9 times before I coughed up the piece of sausage. After that I went back to eating my dinner after a few minutes, but this time, a little bit more carefully!

Yeah, when I was SNUBA diving (Similar to SCUBA, but with an air hose connecting to a regulator on the surface) once, I was about 30 or 35 feet down. I breathed out, tried to breathe in, my regulator malfunctioned. It started allowing water through, and since i just breathed out, I was stuck 30 or 35 feet down with no air. I kinda panicked once I realized this, forgot which way was up. When I figured it out, I started swimming upwards frantically, but my oxygen-deprived brain forgot to release my weight belt. When I finally hit the surface, I was incredibly weak and could barely see, I almost passed out. My dad realized that i was in trouble, swam over and took off my weight belt. I grabbed the side of out boat and held on for several minutes. I didn't go down again for the rest of the year, but started going again next year. I was 13 when this happened, and I am 15 now.
When I was helping my Grandfather on his farm once, I was asked to remove the locking pin from the hay trailer where it connected to the tractor. The problem was, it was all sitting on a hill and when I pulled the pin and tried to scurry out, I was crushed by the trailer into the big tractor tires. My Grandfather quickly started up the tractor and pulled forward until I could get free, but I hade huge tread marks on my chest and abdomen. I think I was 7 or 8 at the time.
Also at my Grandfather’s farm, I was attacked by one of the male turkeys and had to be rescued by my Father and Grandfather. I wrote about this in my WP Blog: "Why I Can Never Be A Vegetarian". I was about 5 when this occured.
The third incident was coincidentally at the farm as well. I was dealing with some issues, mainly a break up, and I decided to stick a loaded shotgun to my head. I wasn’t planning on actually doing it, but wanted to go to the edge since I was in such a dark place at the time. I was 23 back then.
In addition to these, I have been hit 27 times while driving my car and twice while working road landscaping crew. One time while working road landscaping crew, a guy actually tried to run me over. I had to jump behind a guardrail to keep from getting hit. I also supposedly drowned when I was a kid, which my Sister claims since she was the one who pulled me up. I was 3 and it was the deep end of the pool where we were practicing floating near the edge. Apparently I started sinking to the bottom or something.
Oh yeah, once I was surfing in Virginia Beach just before a Hurricane skirted the East Coast and the undertow sucked me over to the jetty at Rudy’s Inlet. I came within inches of smashing into the rocks before I finally paddled free and got back to shore. I likely would have been knocked out and drowned.
Other than that, I have lived through several natural disasters, including Hurricane Andrew while in my dorm at the University of Miami.

Oh, something just came to me.. hehe
This was not near death, but, it felt like it for 2,5 seconds.
If you`re a man, hold on to something here goes..
Some years ago I worked with, what is it called.... its "lafting" på norwegian.. when you build a cottage from logs that you strip the bark off, cut grooves in the corners and make them fit togheter tightly. Hope this makes some sense.
Anyway, after you have put 6-7-8 logs on top of each other, you have to sit on top, with one leg on each side of the wall your sitting on. Or, you dont have to but thats what I did. When working like this, one often wears one big baggy work "suit".
So, there I sit, trying to pull into place a biig log when I slip
And it drops straight down infront of me, and hits the log underneath (that I am sitting on) with a mighty boom, 1/4 of an inch, if that, right in front of you-know-what.
So, I feel the log slip, see it drop, hear the boom, and look down to see that part of what I`m wearing is actually squeezed tightly between the logs
I wish I had a picture of my face, for 2 seconds I thought that I might just had done the biggest blunder so far couldn`t have been closer!
So if you work with lumber, watch out for that one cause that might sting a little

It just hit me that I have actually managed to do something like this 2 times.
The second was with a big Dewalt electrical sander, was working with it above my head, got tired, dropped it down to fast, and the son of a ***** grabbed on to the clothes I was wearing in the groin-area and pulled like there was no tomorrow No injurys, but quite scary for a short time, as you well can imagine
Please god, no nr. 3
