Would you ever sleep if it was optional?

Sleep is good, it is one of the best things I can experience as it is the feeling of rebooting and ou don't have to worry about the days problems.

I hope scientists never develop a cure for sleeping. It's one of the most peaceful and relaxing activities there is, and it's all free too. Plus, my brain is at its most creative when I'm in bed, minutes before going to sleep. If I never slept, I would be far less creative, and probably a lot more grouchy too.

If sleeping was optional, I would still occasionally sleep.

I occasionally enjoy sleeping but mostly its just one of the many irritations of being a meatbag. Like itching or defecating.

I would stay awake constantly, probably on the computer. If I had to work, then I could do first, second, and third shift and have my 40 hours out of the way in 8 hours less than 2 days. That would leave 128 hours per week available for being on forums.

I don't think I would spend a third of my total existing time sleeping, as generally there's other things I would rather be doing, like posting on WP, but I might do it as the occasional diversion, just because it can be fun to do now and then. Maybe like once a week, or a couple hours a day, something like that.

If sleeping wasn't necessary, why would it even be possible?

I wouldn't like to sleep at all if it was only possible. Or, on the other hand, I'd like to be better at lucid dreaming, I must practise it a bit more :D .

Do you know Nancy Kress' "Beggars in Spain" series? :)

If sleep were optional, sleepovers would be all the rage among adults :P

I hate sleeping, so I wouldn't do it very often. Maybe only if I had a stressful day or if I wanted to tune everybody out. But otherwise, I'd be awake all the time.

I absoluty love my sleep!

I'm a former insomniac who now sleeps 12-14 hours with the help of meds. If i'm having a bad day, or there's just too much on my mind then just curling up and sleeping really helps. I have anxiety problems, so my mind is often tired after being out and about.

I'm aware of it being a major waste of time..but i have nothing better to do! :]

I love my sleep whenever I can get it. Keep in mind that for me, sleep is usually just blacking out for a few hours. I get the real stuff maybe 3 times a week if I'm lucky.
Either way, I still feel like crap when I wake up. So yeah, given the option, I'll sleep when I'm dead.
