There is one french actress, Beatrice Dalle, who seems to have some unusual facial expressions, and looks like she has aspergers. She was in the movie Night on Earth as the blind women. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102536/

Athletes seldom have AS (ADHD is a much more common diagnosis, and several Olympic champions, including Michael Phelps, Daley Thompson and Dan O'Brien are known to have it. Several were also known to have dyslexia).

I think, however, Roger Bannister is a very high functioning individual with Asperger's. Finnish runner Paavo Nurmi was a very remote, unsociable individual with a lot of AS traits.

Case in point with what anna-bannana pointed out, I too loved acting and did fairly well in drama. I've heard that taking drama is good for those who are autistic or have high functioning AS. It teaches the basic skills in body languae as well as facial expressions and what tone of voice should be used in any given incident. Just the basics which I used to ignore or don't use in everday life.

In drama, it was easy much more easier for me to get the social cues b/c it was already explained whereas in life, they come randomly and without preparation. So this makes much more sense to me. However I can't fathom what a professional actor would have to go through like a celebrity if they were an aspie. So much they have to do besides just act like look good, deal with publicity, and so on.

I'm surprised they didn't put Johnny Depp in there. All his interviews look aspie-ish.

...not that he is, just wishful thinking..

MissConstrue he's off the market I'm afraid :(

he does seem kinda aspie, but I guess he'd be better at accents if he had AS. I'm not impressed by his fake british in some of the films he made.

I think Kurt Cobain was an aspie. He couldn't deal with all the exposure and publicity, so he blew his head off. I can almost imagine being in his situation, and might react the same way, eventually. An anti-social person can only handle so much forced socialization.

kurt cobain was bipolar or a manic depressive, remember his song Lithium

Quote:
I'm so happy 'cause today
I've found my friends ...
They're in my head
I'm so ugly, but that's okay, 'cause so are you...
We've broken our mirrors
Sunday morning is everyday for all I care...
And I'm not scared
Light my candles in a daze...
'Cause I've found god - yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm so lonely but that's okay I shaved my head...
And I'm not sad
And just maybe I'm to blame for all I've heard...
But I'm not sure
I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there...
But I don't care
I'm so horny but that's okay...
My will is good - yeah, yeah, yeah

I like it - I'm not gonna crack
I miss you - I'm not gonna crack
I love you - I'm not gonna crack
I kill you - I'm not gonna crack

Possibly, all three combined.

I get the feeling he was probably bipolar or manic.

Ashame he took his life, what a waste of talent.

Perhaps I am just wishing he was an aspie? That way, I would feel like I understand him better.
