I have only been focusing on the interior. I haven't thought about the whole "going green" thing yet.

I would like palms, ferns, rocks, an indoor waterfall fountain, a swimming pool on the roof, vines growing over the walls of the house, a mae-west red lips couch, a blacklight room for dancing, a room just for art, another room where people could draw on the walls, and a nice cottage garden outside with a hedge maze. I have so many ideas, if only I was a millionaire I would have so much fun decorating a house.

Well if I'm designing a home, I first think about the big picture, not the decor. Decor can be changed anytime. The "going green" that you're referring to is more of a "quality of life" thing, for me. I like having lots of windows in my house. Low energy consumption allows more money towards amenities or whatever else I want.

I do much the same thing when working on a house for The Sims 2. I visualize the type of house I want to build and as I go along add in little details that add personality to the house.

I found the Sims very confusing. Sim City, however, was partially responsible for my current field of study. That, and the fact that I was struggling in chemistry and calculus (my previous major was geology).

I worked for a while building cottages like these,
from the ground up, started with raw logs that i
stripped the bark off and so on - its interesting and
looks nice when its done, and very durable, 10-15" Ø
logs - old craftsmanship, i like working with my hands,
especially things like this, oldschool

I've actually heard that log cabins are making a comeback.

They have had a huge comeback here the last few years.
And take it from someone building them, theres few things
more cozy and nice then this kind of house, when its done
right. And they cost not so much more then regular houses,
save some $ on insulation, use only those cottonstrips between
the logs you see in the top pic. When you know how to make them,
its always possible to get a cheap piece of land and some cheap
but good quality wood and go to work.

Oh, and the landscaping/gardening around them, i like that
almost more then building them

I recently finished my dream house, now im working on the neighborhood around it... i would have taken architecture or interior design as a major but my college doesnt offer either so i stuck with graphic design....

Because its compleatly made of wood the fibers trap the heat, which makes em more energy eficant right?
