Did your mother not hold you enough or what? I know with AS we cannot read ppl better and have a bad habbit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, etc.
But dude, try not to be mean about it. Seriously, there's therapy, antidepressants, and other ways of improving your social skills.

Look into it.

Listen pal, read above where you told me to STFU. Mind your business. Secondly, I really wouldn't be telling people to take antidepressents, drugs, etc especially after reading your myspace page. You are very pathetic and you are the one who needs major help.

Please refrain from personal attacks.

if you have XP, try reverting to an earlier restore point. If the sound comes back, it's software. Likely drivers, codecs, etc., as mentioned previously...

My laptop model has some problems with the volume - freezing up mainly. It's possible that the speakers were damaged, but from a cleaner thing, that's unlikely. Maybe a bit of dust got blown into a bad place and just needs to be blown back out? Also, most computers have more than one way to manipulate volume. Assuming the master controls are not muted, secondary controls near you clock or on your control panel in windows. For macs... good luck.

You could try for IE:

Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced Tab/Scroll down to 'Multimedia' and ensure 'Play sounds in web pages' is checked

If that's not it perhaps try: check Windows then sound card settings re. sound, check your drivers and codecs, or system restore.

May also be worth checking the device manager to make sure the card is functioning correctly.

If iTunes works for her, it can't be anything wrong with her sound card...has to be with whatever program is playing the videos. I'd need more information to be able to guess, though.

Looks like nobody suggested this option:

Providing you have a Windows based laptop (I read somewhere the sound card may be screwed and need replacing? Maybe on a desktop but never a laptop)

Go to START -> Run -> type in "DXDIAG" and enter, proceed to sound and run the sound checks, if everything checks out, your drivers are OK.

Check sound volume physcally, may be turned down or off. Check the software volume by going to START -> Run -> "SNDVOL32" then enter to adjust volumes of "Wave" "Master" these are the two main ones.

If programs are still not liking it, the problem would have to exist in the software that uses them.

Ya this thread was taken way off topic, unfortunately. He did have sound though iTunes, but when playing videos on the internet he had no sound, no idea what browser he is using, but he might have to reinstall one of the plug ins if its firefox.
Heres the youtube audio trouble page, since iTune has sound, the problem looks to be an issue with Flash, and it recommends reinstalling that plug in
