in my dreams most of the time i am unable to walk and usually teleportation, fly or are using a power or manual wheelchair. (strapples, yes an invacare powerchair) last night in fact, in a dream i was flying IN a manual wheelchair.

would be cool in the far future if people were able to fly, hehe, less or no traffic, and i would be able to do things and go places without a driver's license (i dont drive)

I thought Storm flew by manipulating air currents?

I've always wanted to become an automotive engineer so I could design an engine that runs on urine. I think I may have seen a commercial for that on a TV show recently. But I have wanted to do that for years.

Yeah, teleportation is pretty efficient. Failing that, I'd like a magnetic hovercar or possibly a system of escalator-type peoplemover conveyor belts.

Teleport doors. Uses wormhole and tunnel mechanics. You open the door, enter a short tunnel, and close the door. Walk through the tunnel, and exit at the other end, and viola, there you are. Tunnel is optional.

~smiling at the posts in this thread~

(Only a bunch of ASpies would want to fly about ! ! Or knead the dimensions like in Dune.)

Have given it some serious thought...teleporting sounds mighty
convinient, but if i had to choose between that and one of these
painted blue, i would have to go for this :) it takes more time but
i`ll make time for it :)

Flying about magically on my own power, without equipment and at any speed would, of course, be ideal.

But I've oft longed for one of these: Image

That's quite an old one, possibly the first monocycle ever built, but it's the most handsome example. As you can see, it's quite difficult to steer. And if you break too hard, you will not slow the whole machine down, but rather stop the inner arrangement from rotating in relation to the outer wheel, resulting in the rider being turned upside down and back again as the thing continues to roll along, at detriment to his hat. This is probably one reason they never became popular, though modern enthusiasts insist that this is not a flaw but an entertaining design feature, and call it 'gerbiling.'

We all need sillier modes of transportation.
