I don't care anymore, I've come to realize that the president isn't the king just a puppet manipulated by old men in suits.

I think it's all a bunch of hype. Each time we do get our new president, nothing ever noticeably changes. I can't wait for it all to be over.

Nobody thought that the 2000 election would matter... look what happened.

Yeah...but that just it! It's the money not the elections behind it all....IMO.

I probably care more than I admit. After all, I did go vote today.

You also have to take the campaign managers into account. The Dems used to have ones who were freaking IDIOTS, which is why they did nothing but lose. However, I think they fired some of them after Kerry's defeat in 2004.

Even though our current financial situation is a mess, I don't blame the president. Yeah, he is an idiot, but how much power does he really have? There are many people to blame, and the president is just one of the bunch.

Historically, just about every president has exercised more power than given by the Constitution during a time of war, and Bush certainly used WAY more... why do you think he started it in the first place? Plus, his party controlled both the Executive AND Congress until 2006... during that time, it was possible for him to get away with tons of dirty stuff. So yes, there are others to blame, but a lot of it still falls on him... or at least those who control him.

My problem is that I don't really care, and I just go by what everyone else says. Politics is not for me.

I voted for Obama in early election because he is a liberal and because of what a conservative administration has done to the country. Maybe he won't make that much of a difference but it is possible.

That's the spirit... don't listen to all these defeatists. Never "misunderestimate" the power of positive thinking.
