When I was in middle school, Dick Goddard (local newguy god) came to our house to do a segment on my mother who was one the 70 betty crocker winners. He ate some of our meatloaf and I remember he told us he could not take %1 milk, only whole. . .

I got my picture taken with Mrs. America (the deaf one) when I was at that age also. . .she was nice.

I spotted Dennis Kunich at a local restruant once (He is really that short!)

I run into Stephanie Tubb-Jones every now and then in the bedford area. She really likes that town for whatever reason. She is a representative in the House.

heh. he came to the Tri-c metro campus where I go to school during the election year but I never saw him cause everyone there is frankly democrat, and they bussed in loads of WASP students from the western campus just to look good. . .

I have never met anyone famous, but my Mom ran into Julie Andrews at Disney World when we went in 2000. It was quite amusing :D It was when she was filming "Princess Diaries" so we may have seen some of the other actors, too.

Alex Trebek, when I was on Jeopardy.

President George H.W. Bush, at a dinner.

Garry Kasparov, at a reception.

Emeril Lagasse, at a book signing event.

Marilyn Manson, after a concert, before he was (in)famous.

Charles Osgood, of CBS News Sunday Morning, at the studio.

Did not meet, but saw at a Mass in Philadelphia, Pope John Paul II. I do not think he noticed me. :)

Come to think of it, I have had a pretty weird life...

I have met a lot of famous people, way too many to count or list. But who cares? I think the ones who are most memorable are the ones who made me feel as if meeting me mattered as much to them as meeting them meant to me.

Gore Vidal, Muhammed Ali, Robin Williams, Stephen Spielberg and Timothy Leary all were that considerate. So was Ron Bass, co-writer of "Rain Man" and Eric Burdon, British rocker (House of the Rising Sun) and family friend for almost forty years. Eric even came to my mom's funeral.

My wife is in a similar situation and would probably mention Williams, Spielberg, Stephen King and Squeaky Fromme in the same light.

Prometheus:

1. Yes, as a contestant. Most nerve-racking day of my life (after my wedding day and my recent on-air translation jobs for CBS).

2. His English and French pronunciation seemed okay.

3. Nice fella? Hard to tell; we had limited contact with him. We (contestants) met him on the set about five minutes before taping. At the end of the show, he did give me an autograph.

4. I won some "fabulous parting gifts" as they say. Some guy from Jersey destroyed a woman from Chicago and me; he became a five-time champ.

It was through my temporary, intense fame in my hometown (the city never had a contestant on the show before) that a woman I had lost track of got in touch with me. We got married a few years later. That's a pretty good consolation prize.

I met and had my picture taken with Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook). He did a cooking demonstration at the shopping mall in my town. Really cool guy! He's funny, and so sweet in person, too!

Back when I was on my college radio station I interviewed Bob Dorough, creator of Schoolhouse Rock, and I sat in with Moxy Fruvous on a friend's show. Too bad they're not still together.

Last year I met Mark L. Walberg (the game show host, not the actor) and announcer extraordinaire Randy West at The Price Is Right Live in Atlantic City. Oh, the stories...

I have met both Bob Eubanks, and Ronald McDonald.

When I met Bob Eubanks, I was at a live version of "Wheel of Fortune" at what is now the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York. "The Newlywed Game" may be a raunchy show, but Bob Eubanks is a very nice guy. I think they picked him to be the host because they thought he would be a "showman."

I met Ronald McDonald at some local ski slopes in Seattle, Washington. I have skied before. It is a lot of fun. I was all shy when I met Ronald McDonald, maybe because I was a little kid, but he was happy to meet me.
