I plan on getting a pair of thongs upon arrival. Maybe something to wear swimming too.

It's REALLY nice to be traveling internationally to a place where it's so hot. It'll make it easier to travel light. Less clothing to pack. Maybe I'll even be able to fit a pillow and small blanket in my suitcase for optimum couch-surfing!

Not taking any guitars?

I hope you have a great trip, although I'm wondering if you are going to ever come back! 8O
If you stay, you'll be missed... just so's you know!

There is hot weather then there is "OMG I think someone just threw me into a furnace, oh wait no I just walked outside' hot weather. For me that's when summer stops being fun. Yesterday and today was like that and I only hung washing and brought it in.
No wonder I've been feeling dizzy for 5 days straight.
There's a cool breeze now though and I think tomorrow will be about 21 degrees Celsius.

I'm glad it maxes out at 37C here. I can barely handle 30C.

I'm kind of ambivalent to the bottoms of winter at -48C. Hmmm.

It has been very hot lately, but that is not all, this weekend there has been a huge problem with bushfires, 90 something confirmed dead, entire towns have been almost destroyed, most of this in the state just south of mine. I thought it was bad enough were I am but when I sudenly looked at the news it is terrifying, and it is not just one fire, there are a bunch of them, with even one that is north of the city I live. I hope none of our WP members have been affected by this.

It's milder in Tas, but we got last weeks heat wave, record temps here.

I hate this time of year because of the light, I get so sick of it being light for so long. Dark is good.

I've been reading about the heat and fires over there and have been praying for you guys.

A couple of questions:

Is it normal for it to be that hot in the summer in Australia?

What's the humidity like there? It's not unusual for us to get temperatures over 110F, but we also have extremely low humidity that time of year with dewpoints in the teens and lower. One year we had highs of 115+ and dewpoints in the sixties and a lot of people died.

I hope this cool weather puts out those fires.
