I work in a drafting/design position for a large home builder. I have been there for 9 years out of pure luck. Mostly it seems all I do is estimate materials, which is something at which I make far too many mistakes. But hey, I didn't pick it!! I chose to be a draftsman and designer, not a fricking estimator.

I took AutoCAD in high school, and it was fun.

I rather enjoyed AutoCAD, though I hate the program I use now. I much prefer drafting by hand, but that takes far too long for today's fast-paced society. It's a shame, though, as it truly is a lost art. My favorite part of drafting class was drafting by hand.

I design and build things, mostly homes, furniture, cars, boats and motorcycles.

Does it show my age to suggest that I was quite good at AutoCAD for DOS but disliked the Windows version of the app.

Cool :)

I want to be a computer scientist or a entrepreneur. I could do both, I guess, make a business which requires computer science... I'll be mega rich and I'll have great fun doing it! :)

Hey, the workload at my office has dried up to little more than a trickle, so I'm sure (if other offices are in the same situation as mine) that your return has been processed by now. Believe it or not, there are times when we have an insane amount of work, and others when we have to scrabble for stuff to occupy ourselves. Right now, we're in one of the "not a lot of work" situations :)

Of course, I'm fine personally, because I'm the designated go-to guy for finding stuff for people in other offices - which means I get to go off and hide in the filing area for virtually the whole of the afternoon, listening to the radio and enjoying not having to interact with people

I know what you mean! I am an insurance fraud investigator to keep body together and all my spare time is moderating a message board for my soul's benefit.
