What about those who eat meat in front of vegetarians saying, "mmm, meat! You sure don't want to try a bit?" and so on. Those that do that are as bad as the vegetarians that proclaim no-one else should eat meat either.
I am a vegetarian on the basis, I don't eat meat, but I don't judge anyone else for eating meat.
This. I wholeheartedly agree.
If you leave me be, I'll leave you be.
If you act like a prick around me, regarding this subject, I will let you know what I think of you.
I usually only tell people about my diet if they actually show any interest and ask me about it.
And you can't hold it against me if I lash out at you with a lame 'you shouldn't eat meat' joke, if you're the one waving meat in front of my face going ' mmmmmm it's so goooood' etc.
It's even worse if you actually think it's funny, 'cause it's not. And you're definitely not being original as I've heard that joke at least once a week for the entire 8 years of me being vegetarian.
Actually all of the jokes (the peta one, the plants have feelings too!, I'll eat two for every 1 you don't eat etc.) are old, beat completely lifeless and never funny to begin with. They sound like they came from the mouth of a failed comedian.
RARRRGH.

lol
Anyway,
I agree with everyone who says not to lump all vegetarians/vegans together.
I don't go around saying all 'meat eaters' are stupid, dumb or high and mighty about their diet etc. that would be ridiculous.
It'd be as ignorant as saying, all "Dutch people wear clogs and carry tulips" just because you happened to see a couple like that in real life and perhaps on tv.
There are so many different personalities, attitudes etc. no one is the same and everyone acts differently. You cannot judge someone based on what the other has done.
