One of my earliest memories of school was when I was about 4 and for some reason they were teaching us how to throw. The teacher grabbed my hand, put a ball in it and then swung my arm for me.
I remember her saying: "Um. You're supposed to let go of the ball, you know."
Pfft.

I can throw a ball pretty accurately, but most of the time I can't play pool for the life of me. I can't figure out if I'm looking at it evenly as possible, if my angles are right, etc.

My dad says, "You're thinking about it too much... just shoot!"
But that usually makes it worse. :?

If most guys can accurately throw 50ish yards, I can only accurately throw about 20ish yards. I can catch big objects like basketballs reliably, but small fast moving objects like baseballs and you can forget it.

I can throw, but can't catch, but that's probably due to my tunnel vision more than anything

I can throw things quite far, but never in the direction that I intend to throw them. As for catching things, I either fail to react and end up being hit in the face or I scream and run away from the incoming ball. People seem to find the latter reaction quite amusing.

I never could play any sport that required projectile calculations...

I can throw a ball but couldn't catch until I had my first child. After he was born, I can catch anything...must have something to do with being related to primates...where they need to catch their young from falling out of trees.

I'm a natural throwing machine. :P I can throw almost anything with exceptional power, distance, and accuracy, even the javelin. When I was in my early teens, I used to hunts with stones like a caveman. :rambo: Pretty successful too. I got quite a few rabbits, but mostly ducks, and even a few squirrels and birds. Spent many days throwing for hours, honing accuracy, and building shoulder strength. And the fact that I'm tall was also an advantage.

Yes, as you can tell, it's something that I'm proud of. I likely would've had a shot at some upper level sports, maybe even pro, if my life had been lived under different circumstances.

Dude that is bad to the bone

With your javelin throwing prowess, did you ever craft a primitive spear and try to hunt deer and stuff with it?

I always sucked at dodgeball LOL.
I was never as bad as some of you claim to be, though.

I can, with no difficulty, except my arm cocks right when I throw.

So I'm off target everytime to the left.

It also makes golfing difficult :?

Oh, wait, you mean like sports, and that kind of thing. Like where people get together and run around, throw balls, and scream angrily at each other but claim to be loving every minute of it. I forgot people do that.

I can throw or kick a ball, but not very long and with absolutely no aim. It is completely arbitrary where that ball ends up. I can occasionally make good shots, but I have no idea how I make them and I can't replicate it. My worst sport was volley ball.
The only things worse about PE class was gymnastics, swimming and track n' field.

I used to struggle throwing a ball, but I think I'm getting better at it now.

Catching one can still be a problem for me, although that has improved too, it still needs a lot of work.
