How long would it take untill someone blows up the set?

I'm guessing not very long.

I agree. Early in the morning now, it just seems like infomercials, and bible thumpers. I find thatg annoying, I'd at least like a nice cartoon!

Maybe they should equal religeous tv out a bit with a LaVeyan channel.

*looks up LaVeyan* hmm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaVeyan_Satanism
Wouldn't that just be really similar to a lot of regular TV though? XD;;

I don't think we have any Muslim channels in the US... I think some people would freak out, hurr.

For those lacking in interesting TV channels, there's www.ted.com.

The History Channel regularly runs shows about the life of Jesus and the history of Christianity, but it presents them in an unbiased manner and is not preachy.

They also say that History Channel is very biased towards the Allied side of the war, which strikes me as odd since I've also seen a lot documentaries about the Soviet Union's effort throughout the war, and also a lot of the German view of things.

But why does almost every station have to have some bible thumping preacher hogging them? :?

I haven't surfed TV in a while especially in the morning now I remember why...because most of them are packed full of christian shows!!

Why just.......why?

Because it has turned into something of entertainment or a circus...

It is something lke a reality show with shock value.... and you are one of the contestants..

I was in the doctors office yesterday and on CNN news in the lobby television was showing - they had a segment about preachers in african countries 'exercising' demons out of little children... looked like a cross between entertainment and a reality show dressed in religious garb but there were a lot of tribal beliefs and superstitions mixed with perverted doctorines...

As long as these so called television ministries can dope their 'flock' and make their own little kingdoms where they rule over their subjects by superstitions, false doctorines and lies and such... they will keep the money rolling in and such...

Take away their tax-exempt status, make them accountable like any other business, especially the corporations and such and there will be a lot less of these circus ring leaders...

Out of the 115 channels I get (Comcast basic cable, Westford MA) I only get 2 religious channels of any kind, both are Christian, one is EWTN (Catholic, with about as much quality as the local community cable studio), and the other being Daystar (fundamentalist evangelical). EWTN is usually just some fat old nun talking mumbling on and on for hours and televised church services. Daystar usually has sermons at those 10,000 seat megachurches.

I'm an atheist, so I only use these channels for their comedic value and to keep an eye on what new brainwashing tactics they're using. The children's programming on EWTN is usually somewhat disturbing concerning what they're teaching the kids, but they're Catholic, so that is to be expected.

I've actually never seen a religious ad in the morning, and only one religious cd ad at night. Maybe you just check different channels?
