I'll do this when I get the chance.

By the way, may I skip the Hogwarts question? I'm not really into fantasy.

Go ahead. No one has to do that.

coming from a canadian who has *no* idea about UK accents (but who really wants to play "Guess That Accent"), i'm gonna go with whatever county Colchester is in.

WIN! in a sense i cheated, though. your accent sounded a little like london - but a bit outside, like one city over. so i listened to 3 or four people on youtube who seemed about the right distance away from london, and a guy from colchester sounded the closest. so i didn't just randomly guess or anything.

I was going to say Essex but Hyperlexian beat me to it  I have to say I didn't put any where near as much work into it as she did so she does deserve to win. I've just heard so many Essex accents even from people not from Essex (a lot of people around here speak like that even though I live in Hampshire) that I can tell what accent it is.

You must understand that I am a Lancastrian but I can't tell the difference between the various Southern accents - I mean, I can tell that they are very different from each other, but I cannot pinpoint where they are from, with a few exceptions.

if i spoke like most people i know, you'd probably be able to pinpoint where i was from. my accent's very diluted for some reason

You can kinda pick up the slight differences in South London, Kent and Surrey accents from East London and Essex. They have their own little sayings and oddities that stand out slightly. We have "mockneys" in Hertfordshire as we call them.

I'll just post here now so that it will appear on my 'view your posts' so that I will remember to do this later.

Here is mine :) I'm feeling lazy today, so I skipped some of the questions.

I am from the northeastern part of Florida. I speak the Florida Cracker sub-dialect of the Southern American English (SAE) dialect. My family has been in that part of Florida for 6 generations, so I have not been influenced much by other regional dialects.
