OK, I put back the $30 clothbound Tess since I already have the Penguin paperback, and in its place I got $160 of paperback classics because that makes total sense.
I might ask MR to give them to me since he asked for book ideas, but considering he already gifted me with orchestra seats to Les Mis, I think I should just pay for the books for myself.
What the hell. I deserve them after the year from hell I've had. They can be my retirement gift to myself.
These will officially complete my collections from my favourite authors and I might actually be finished buying books until the end of time.
Seriously, I mean that. I'm out of room anyway.
- Moths, Ouida
- Daniel Deronda, George Eliot
- Silas Marner, George Eliot
- Sentimental Education, Flaubert
- The Warden, Trollope
- Anna Karenina, Tolstoy
- Sylvia's Lovers, Elizabeth Gaskell
- The Tragic Muse, Henry James
- The Golden Bowl, Henry James
- Effi Briest, Theodor Fontane
I think I need to make a reading list like I did in 2021, and get back to reading full-time.
That's always the best therapy I can imagine.
