This post is here just in case Sylkat might see it. The largest cave in the world, Hang Son Doong. I'm not sure if it is Vietnam or Kambodia, could be both. -- Dare enter? Note the tiny human figures near the cave bottom.

Years ago I went with a friend to the Sudwala Caves on one of the special tours, where they take you deep into the dark, down chimneys and through low tunnels half filled with water. They did say at the start of the trip (tongue in cheek I hope!) that if anyone feel they would leave him there to die. That ensured everyone was pretty careful!

I would do it again if given the opportunity.

I recently read of a place near Fanagusta, Cyprus where it is alleged exists an underground tunnel to America. Some people claim to have explored it for several miles and come across a gel-like substance which they speculated was the ocean, but when they touched it filled them with great fear. Sounds like a tale Lovecraft would have written!

That was from one of the allegedly true tales sent in by people on paranormal.about.com, which I subscribe to.

Not sure if you'll find it with a regular Google search, but maybe...

I used to read stories there, but then I forgot about the site. Some of the stories were entertaining.
