Just to tell a story, last week my mother and I went on our annual vacation together where I went to the Build-a-Bear store. While I'm there trying to decide what to buy this young lady, I'm guessing in her late teens maybe, comes right up to me with one of the Care Bears, Tenderheart, and he's got a red light saber from Star Wars, which is weird because it's a Care Bear and it's supposed the "evil" light saber. Then she presses on it and it starts playing the Darth Vader theme, and she starts singing along in a very high and off-key voice. Then a lady working in the store asked if we knew each other. I said without hesitation, "No, I've never met this person in my life before".
I still wonder if the girl was deliberately trying to make me uncomfortable or if she's just a little "odd". And I'm the one who's supposed to be odd. Anyway, I ended up buying two stuffed animals at the store - a floppy-eared bunny named Pawlette, who I got all dressed up for Canada Day, and a beautiful plush cat with swirls of pastel pink, purple, and white. I named her Moon Mist, after a flavor of ice cream that has similar colors, and found a fairy costume that looked perfect on her.
