LOL...How'd you know? She was born in Russia in 1904. Came to the US in 1910. Spoke with a Bronx accent.

My Great-Aunt Bella, though, spoke with a Yiddish accent. She came with my grandmother on the same boat. She was not known as Bella on the boat, nor was my grandmother named Jean. She was quite a funny lady at age 95, though she was somewhat gruff when I visited her and Uncle Julius (the guy who looked like Ed Norton) when I was six years old.

We used to call our great aunts and uncles "Aunt" and "Uncle." I had no real aunts or uncles.

Once, I accidentally dropped a bowling ball on my girlfriend's foot. We got thrown out of the bowling alley because she laughed so much.

Oh dear God.
I hope it's 3. :(

Nope.

1 - True
2 - Lie, I lost 88kg (194 pounds)
3 - True

A neighbor's kid (14 years old) stood on a flat in front of me 9 floors high, he jumped and dropped in front of me. I saw him struggling for his life until the ambulance came. 6 months later he recovered and did it again. This time he succeeded and he was free.

Oh my goodness. Did you receive counselling or therapy? That's brutal.
Congrats on the weight loss.
Report your neighbours and move ASAP.

It's really hard for people to move sometimes. For monetary reasons, usually.

I hope he moves, too.....away from that junk.

Most of the world isn't like that.

I like a Yiddish accent. Do you know what the boat was called? You should check out your genealogy. It's easy these days.

I did find out....but I lost all the paperwork. I guess I could pay the $40 or so bucks to get it back. My grandmother was named Jeannette in 1920, but changed her name to Jean by 1930. She had a Yiddish name on the boat. She didn't become an American citizen until 1936.

It left out of Vilnius, Lithuania.

I don't know what transport they took from Minsk (in what is now Belarus) to Vilnius; that would have been interesting--did they walk all that distance?

Fascinating. I love ancestry.

I had some very sudden / unexpected sensory flashbacks in the past week.

1. A trigger about the smell of a food I ate at a carnival, when I was about six.

2. A trigger about choosing a pottery style bird bath with my father, when I was about six.

3. A trigger about swimming lessons and chlorine, when I was about six.

#1. You had a food trigger---but it wasn't from a carnival.

My stupid phone went dead.

I won't be able to post until I get home---at about 12:30 AM or so.

1 was my lie. No food trigger. I don't think I ever went to a carnival, either. Ha.

2 and 3 were so random and quick. It's bizarre how the brain works.

The suicide did not bother me that much, I had a pretty rough life and this was nothing compared to the rest.

Took 5 years to move and in that period so much happened, it's insane.

The past is the past.

Sorry to bring this up, things happened today, people are bothering me, giving me mixed signals, playing with my mind, making my emotions go all over the place.

Again, I apologize.

Hang tough and stick with us. You'll be OK. My life would make your head spin. I've experienced things too difficult to put into words. No one would believe it anyway. You're safe here.

1. I once purposely ate chalk to see what it was like, envisioning something similar to Flinstones vitamins.

2. I remember a time when I was pretty young going down this highway that was paved strangely with asphalt strips about 10 feet apart from each other, causing a near-constant tapping sound from the wheels of the car passing over them, and whenever I heard this sound an image would pop into my head of some strange cross between a cantaloupe and a head of lettuce.

3. ASMR has no effect on me whatsoever.

1 and 2 are so lovely I want them to be true. I don't know what ASMR is?
