I'd never heard of it, but now that I've googled it, I'm afraid I can no longer plead ignorance. It's no odder than a lot of the novelty breads you'd find in a Chinese bakery- our local ones have breads filled or topped with everything from fish floss to purple yam.

Yes. *cough* Literally every day.

Yes, but I'm old enough to sensible about that kind of thing. Besides, I'm a long-time vegetarian, so it goes with the territory, really.
