Do you drink beer :)

Though it's not fit for public consumption at this moment it's still to "ripe" Not that matters to me I even drink it to the very bottom (fermentor) where all the dregs and yeastie beasties and other muck lives :eew: It's like liquid marmite!

I simply can't bear to throw out the last 1litre or 2 of beer

Your presence here with those chipies almost tempts me to want to go to the Uk back in the 90's I was going to but with the rip off culture their and the strong pound $15 for a pint of beer didn't sound to appealing to me I thought "thanks but no thanks"

No the reverse is true we've developed that culture (like the Irish and look what happened to their economy) and the strong $ who would have imagined a Aussie dollar would be worth 10% more than a USA one (theirs even a gag in GTA 4 about the denial/excuse about it .

It was funny though sadly I can't recall what it was (I'm about to play it again so I'll be able to find out.) :)

A packet of those crisps in my local Home Bargains would cost you 27c. A can of Coke would set you back 75c. And a pint of real ale would be around $4.90.

Still keen?

I haven't found many that I like, possibly because Australian beer is crap. I'd give yours a try to see if I liked it.

I thought you didn't like meeting people because you had to perform like a trained seal for their entertainment? :P

Yes not sure what it is (does it really mater) :) it a pseudo American english brown ale , that's the beauty of homebrew (something I still don't understand why you don't do ) is you can do "all sorts of crazy ^&*^" It uses fruity American hops with an english ale yeast. I suspect it's around 7% I don't do gravity readings ) no real point , despite what the hombrew experts say (I like to go by "feel".

Though their are limits to that crazy *(&* like using extracts I just had such a beer from your part of their world a "banana bread beer" which contained banana extract and it was quite awful which is a shame as it seemed like a reasonably made beer. So yes their are limit's to gimmicks.

They could have used a Aussie ale yeast (which has banana like flavours) without the lolly like flavours. :eew:

Coopers is good when it's fresh (hardly ever) if only people treated beer with respect ie kept away from light and stored at the right temp.

James Squire is quite ok to.

The poor sea lion having to preform day in day out to keep the crowds amused for what a few fishy scraps * that have been allowed to partially ferment on a hot humid summers day (it's GC Seaworld after all) He tries hard yet we know if he fails to preform it's off to the knackery. The poor sea lion.

Actually I'm dumbfounded preforming animals still exist in 1 st world countries in the 21 centuary!

*and yes even my Gp with his strange Cosby fantasies believes in these practical realities, not that i care I own my own home and have clean bill health well nearly 100%, plastic is fantastic ( when it's in your brain)

I don't know how many are in brisbane but I know at least 4 of us are here.

I don't see what the point of a meet up is, I've noticed only remarkable people get the "privilege " of being nominated, and I'm thoroughly unremarkable, i could fake remarkable but I wouldn't know how to fake that as I still don't understand what remarkable is :?

No need to edit this mod :) , i think it needs to be said as it's been on my mind for quite some time now and I suspect on many other peoples mind to , Mod told me these people get nominated because their nice so can some one please explain to me why on the introductions thread a attractive and well educated young girl gets the highest score count ever, how did you lot know she was nice on a introductions thread?

Am I surrounded by NTs? because unlike many here who warmly welcomed her I thought gee theirs a pretty well educated girl who had the good fortune of being a ovarian lottery winner have I got it all wrong?

Sorry but this has been bugging me for quite some time . Will this get edited ? I hope not because I don't understand :?

Does any one around here get it ?

Ok aussiebloke, I'll leave your post as it is and try to provide you with an answer.

What you were told is basically correct: people who are nice to others tend to be more popular and it doesn't have to be something that pours out of a first introductory post, either.
People will also find different things attractive or interesting about a member's introductory posts and that's another reason why people may respond to it.

There's a big difference between someone who engages in conversations with other members in a friendly manner - no matter how short the conversations or posts might be - and someone who relentlessly posts negativity.
How many replies do you think an introductory post saying "I think you are all rubbish and I don't want to be here" would get? Go on, take a wild guess.
You'd probably wonder why they bothered posting at all.

So people who appear pleasant, interesting and approachable will get responses and as those responses develop, they may end up with an actual meeting. It often doesn't even matter how long or detailed the first conversations are because if they're friendly, polite and have something in common - they'll develop into something bigger and more interesting.
I know of several that have happened because people have started talking through WP and ended up meeting each other because they enjoyed talking with them.
It's as simple as that.

It's Ok if you don't want to meet anyone here, really it is: you're under no obligation to do that.
But what you should think about is why you are continually posting to tell everyone that and what you want to achieve from it because I'll tell you one thing it will definitely do - annoy and upset several other members and when that happens, you attract the attention of the moderation team.

So if you don't want to meet anyone - fine. That's your choice and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
But please - stop posting and telling people. We already know.

Although I'm not sure who this girl is you're talking about, I know where you are coming from aussiebloke. Judging by this thread it tends to be the more regular posters of the forum that are put on peoples lists, or they are part of the social clique they have formed on here. I find it ironic in a way that more outgoing members are selected on a website for autism, as autistics are typically introverts.

I've been active on here for a while now, and during that time I've not had much interaction with other members when giving an opinion as they are more inclined to interact instead with cliques they have formed like I mentioned. I've seen you mention this point here before, and for that reason I think it bothers you deep down whether you admit it or not. Due to limited interaction that comes my way, I doubt I would be on anyone's list either. But this is mostly a hypothetical thread and most members probably wont even meet, so it doesn't bother me.
