This past Sunday, I dreamt that I entered a rather filthy, cottage-like room with a plastic fountain decoration, which looked like a cliff, without any water in it. It was on fire, so I stepped away from it. I turned around and an unknown, overweight man with very worn clothing (who I somehow was aquainted to in the dream) entered the room, from the same door opening that I came from. I quickly told him something like "It's on fire, get the fire extinguisher!", while pointing on the fountain, followed by "It's in the basement!" He left the room from the same way he came and soon came back. I then said "Put out the fire with the fire extinguisher!" (Yes, what else would he do with it?) He headed towards it, so I then said something like "Watch out! Don't step in the melted plastic!" He stepped a bit away from it, and started to attempt putting the fire out, but he then ended up stepping in the melted plastic, anyway. He had no shoes on, so the melted plastic got through his socks and to his feet. He looked at his feet and soon made muffled sounds of horrifying pain. I looked at him, realizing how his skin on the underside of his feet, as well as that of his toes, now would fall off, as melted plastic gets stuck in the skin, ruining it beyond repair.
I then wake up from the dream, horrified by the scene in it. I then started thinking about how many people, like in the revolution in Egypt, etc., get burning, melting flags over themselves, when standing under them - after all, flags are made out of plastic. I almost couldn't get back to sleep, thinking about it... I wonder how many have gotten their faces and bodies ruined during flag burning. The world really is a horrifying place when even a simple thing such as that can have such severe consequences.
