You're right! I want something lighter to read today, with pictures lol. I'm still very tired.

How is your cold?

Much better, thank you. I slept a lot better.

1. I've never had pneumonia.

2. I've had the measles.

3. I've had the chickenpox.

Believe it or not, it's #3. I've never had the chickenpox.

I had the measles at age 2, in 1963 (the same year the measles vaccine came out).

Growing up, measles, mumps, and chickenpox were considered the "usual childhood diseases."

1. I once saw a kid in my first grade class whose neck was quite swollen; turns out he had the mumps.

2. Everybody in our school, PS 158, filed out of the school on June 14, 1968 in order to celebrate Flag Day. This consisted of all of all, simultaneously, saluting a gigantic American flag adjacent to the school.

3. I was put on the Honor Roll in first grade because I was such a good kid.

LOL....I didn't even know what an "honor roll" was until junior high.

All they "recognized" was that I needed discipline LOL. There was no "circle time" in first grade back then. We all sat at individual desks, and listened to the teacher lecture. I was allowed to read on my own sometimes in some sort of cubicle type place, though, sometimes.

1. I only won Hunt's Snack Pack Chocolate Pudding once in my Summit School career.

2. I was very patient when I only won a Twinkie or something.

3. I was scared to nightmares by listening to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" on a tape recorder when I was in the equivalent of second grade at the Summit School.

Very perceptive :) I liked Twinkies okay----but really wanted the Snack Pack!

I threw tantrums frequently because I didn't get the chocolate pudding.

1. I had a teacher at the Summit School who owned a Ford Pinto.

2. The Pinto had denim material in its seats.

3. I once rode my bike to school in 1971.

The Pinto did have denim material for its seats in one of their "trims." And the teacher had that "trim."

1. Whenever I think of the grocery store chain "Kroger", I get the mental image of vinegar-soaked strips of some sort of raw "crunchy" meat. Can't tell if it's chicken or shrimp.

2. I've had dreams in which one or more teeth have fallen out on their own.

3. I've been on the couch watching TV.

4. One scene I remember evoking somewhat of a sensation of being lightly touched without actually being touched is the scene in the movie Hook, where one of the boys is touching the main character Peter's face to determine if he is in fact the actual Peter Pan who had gone missing.
