I was at the doctors doing a test to see how boring I am. He was asking me my opinion on the royal family and stuff.

i have found the best way to have dreams depicting what my subconscious is worrying about, it to wake up first and then doze back to sleep for an hours or so

No, but I got the sense I was giving very boring responses. The questions were very boring.

Yes, a commonly used technique in the lucid dreaming community is to set an alarm clock for two hours before you actually want to get up.

I used to do this a lot, but I got less interested in dreams.

That's how my dreams usually go. I just don't remember enough of them to write them down like that. This time, I decided to get up after waking from it and write it down in notepad.

It's a bit scary in my head...

i do this sometimes for non-dream purposes, but i don't like the dreams that come out of it

I set my alarm 2 hours before I want to get up every morning. It's not for dream purposes, though.

No wonder I have odd dreams after it goes off...

I suppose so. I'm just so used to it that I didn't really think about it that way.

That, and when I wake from a dream I want to remember I go over it in my mind half a dozen times before getting out of bed.

lol The alarm is to break up my days a bit, actually. Originally, I did it to keep myself *in* bed longer as I was waking up at 7am every morning. I used the alarm sort of as 'permission' to sleep more. Now it's there to remind me not to sleep too late.

I can't wake up unless i've set my alarm an hour and a half early and have had an hour and a half worth of dozing first :). I still get up past the time im meant to but meh, what can you do? Sleepy me is just too unreasonable!
