I had pizza and mushrooms for supper.
My mum likes to say that we're descended from Hobbits.
Also, would anyone be interested in my story summaries [that I am trying to fit into one story, with limited success]?
Story 1:
A story about a Star Child [Meri/Meridia] slowly and painfully crystallizing, with no memory of herself or even the realm she is in. She meets Kareth, a young Corcha [half cat/half raven creature] with only one wing, a giant claw instead of a left hand, and a sewn shut mouth. She also meets Semi, a little child, who slowly grows wings. They journey across a desolate wasteland [of snow?]. It is later revealed that Kareth is long dead, and lost his/her wing, left hand, mouth, and eventually died as a trade to keep Meri alive as she gave birth to Semi while the three of them were freezing to death in the snow, and the trauma caused Meri to lose all memory, though Kareth stayed as a ghost for awhile until she remembered. Meri outright refuses to grieve or cry at all over Kareth’s death, and tries to raise Semi as best she can.
Notable quotation:
Semi: “Mama? why will you not cry for other mama? I met her just before I was born. She hugged me and said that she loved me, and said that crying when you need to cry is another way of showing strength. If you will not cry, then is it alright if I cry instead? I can cry if you hold me.”.
That is a lot.
More complicated than my story of how "Kiki" came about. (In short: Kiki is not their real name, they are not human, but a humanoid monkey-person, they are dead, and they are a version of Lilli from an alternate timeline.
Your stories sound so sad.
But, it feels like whenever I try to write something "normal", or happy, it takes a twist into something depressing.
