Vocaloids are basically robots that you can program to sing. People make their own songs for Vocaloids to sing. And the drawing of Rin I have is from one series of songs called the Evil Saga or The Story of Evil.

They're synthesizing people, I guess that's how I'd explain it. You can buy a copy of their software and make songs. They and a few other Vocaloids were kind of adopted by Sega, and they can have concerts now.

I meant are they from a show or something? They seem to be like anime characters. I'm not really a big fan of anime, making me not have much in common wiht people on another site...

They're not really anime. People like to make these animated videos to go along with the songs they make, and they draw them in the anime style. Their designs on the boxes are also in the anime/manga style, but Vocaloid is not an anime.

Nah, they're not from any anime. Although a Vocaloid anime would be awesome, but that's just me.

The best I can do is watch MMD animes created by fans. This one's actually impressive.
