totally. used trucks tend to keep their value i noticed, especially the toyota ones.

ford wants almost 100 grand for their new top of the line truck. for that price, it better have a d*** massager and the ability to tow literal mountains and ford [ha] seriously deep streams. you can get an S klasse for that money.

using it for work?

i suppose part of the price rise has to do with the transformation of trucks from honest, barebones work vehicles into luxury SUVs with beds...or course they're going to charge more for all the extra bling you get in the nonfleet versions.

can you even still get a brand new, short bed single cab pickup here? i read about one instance of someone ordering such a thing (f150) and their request being rejected by a dealership. something like that. guess it's very easy to upsell from there.

chicken tax doesn't to many favors. even GM is reluctant to call their colorado a "small truck" (well...it is midsized), using the term "smart sized". huh? is small size somehow a sin against truckdom? why is the new ranger so fat? why don't we get the hilix, the amarok....

....where was i?

anyway, i hope you get what you're looking for. :)

^ nice.

Why do people in movies always touch a photo of their dead/absent loved one?
Do they imagine they can touch the person by touching the photo?
Don't they know how photos work?

I've never stroked someone's photo.
That would make it all streaky and fingerprinty.
I'm certain that person wouldn't want their memory smeared.

^I never knew that people did that in movies.

Then again, the only movies I regularly watch are The Lord of the Rings, in which there are no photos, and the old Star Trek movies, in which there are no photos.

I have Netflix now so I've been subjected to lots of gratuitous photo stroking.

I can hear things I've never heard before.
This either means my hearing has improved or my brain has gone insane.

^^My mum often watches rather random things on Netflix, just to see what they're like. I like nature, Planet Earth-style documentaries best, especially about the deep seas.

I'm not a fan of most movies either.
I like nature documentaries best, especially David Attenborough docs.

^Ooh, I like David Attenborough ones. I don't know what it is about the deep sea creatures that fascinates me so much. Maybe because they often look like things from outer space?

Isn't that weird? Technically everything is in 'inner' space, yet people talk about 'outer' space as if Earth is separate from everything else.

The illusion of separation never made sense to me.

Me too. Did you see the latest "Planet Earth" Raleigh? The scenes of the snakes trapping the young of the turtles on the Galapagos Islands were horrific.. very unusually, for anything Attenborough makes, the BBC got a lot of complaints from traumatised viewers who were taken completely by surprise. Attenborough noted that they included it in that chapter because no-one had ever seen nor filmed it before - no-one knew that it happened until the camera team saw it themselves.
