I'm not going to lose my licence!! !! ! Yesterday I went to an Optometrist for an eye check and he found I have quadrantanopia which means I have a big blind spot in the upper right quadrant of my right eye most likely caused by damage to the optic nerve. It explains why I'm often startled by things on my right side. He wrote a referral to an Ophthalmologist which I don't want to do because I'm Dr phobic. Anyway, I didn't think to ask if it would effect my licence. I only wondered about that when I got home so I had a sleepless night worrying he would report me to the licence people as unfit to drive, but I spoke to the him today and he said it's all good. If it was bilateral it would be a problem but the vision in my left eye is perfect so it doesn't disqualify me from having a licence. Phew!

Waking up to a dry and sunny day.

What a difference it makes.

And of course, just waking up. :D

The two big projects that I have for when my best friend is in Maui. One project will be to work on my crafts for 5 hours a day 5 days a week. Another huge project will be to make my own cloth pull-ups by hand.

Therapy today ... we go to therapy to heal from those who intended to hurt us. I wonder whether they end up going to therapy to admit they intended to hurt innocent people and stop doing it?

Finally got out for a proper long walk in the countryside for the first time in months - the first day this year that the sun has really felt warming, and no need for a heavy overcoat (should have worn my wellies, though!) It couldn't have worked out better; I got to watch a fox out stalking rabbits for a good half an hour, saw a couple of buzzards circling in the thermals, and then bumped into an old friend on her way to tend her allotment as I passed through the village I used to live in. I think I may have cracked my glum winter face at last! :D

I've decided to phone Barb three hours after she hung up in a hurry. She was in a better mood and it turns out she wasn't mad at me at all. We talked Sweet Peas and hung up.

Watched a pair of pileated woodpeckers circle a large pine tree, near the base. They pick off a loose tile of pine bark quickly and then grab any insects so revealed. They "talk" to each other while they do it, little whippet noises and then there is the sound of their feet on the rough bark and the bark pieces falling to the ground, and the rustle of their wings as they ascend or descend the trunk. Their bright red crests would catch the sun from time to time. The white on the wings would flash as they moved up and down the trunk. Spectacular viewing.

For me my brother came over so I was able to cuddle my elder properly while the younger played downstairs with my brother.

Normally I don’t get a good chance because the younger gets jealous and is always wanting the exact same thing so it’s split between them.
