spent part of the day with grandparents that haven’t been seen in possibly a decade or more. showed them the new place, then went to barnes & noble, and they said to choose a few books... picked “tao te ching” by lao tzu, “meditations” by marcus aurelius, and a japanese dictionary. after that, went to a reasonably affordable, slightly hidden, sushi bar that’s rather liked, and they mentioned wanting to go back next time they visit.

I caved in and went to church this morning. I almost didn't go because the pastor was talking about sex the entire time last Sunday. The same pastor put on a really good service today. I was impressed.

The walking irises put on a fantastic display of blooms today. Each bloom lasts only one day and today there were 58 blooms all at once, which is a new record. Previous record was 48 blooms. Quite lovely.
