I find it fascinating the concept of "mejorar la raza" that exists throughout the Spanish speaking colonies which seems to be missing in English speaking colonies?
I am wondering why people of mixed origin in Spanish speaking countries aspire to "marry up" whereas in decolonised African communities believe that "black is beautiful"?

there was a time magazine cover featuring a most beautiful computer-generated composite or mixed race face, that got many lonely men and women writing to the magazine inquiring of the model's identity.
