Yes, they are both equally appealing.

I believe too many smart people discuss politics, but very few of those smart people actually go on to become politicians.

or as bertrand russell to tartly put it, "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." doubtful people tend not to become involved in politics or public policy in general.

Few philosophers have been good people. I can only name Spinoza.

Small scale, and people bringing weapons to public events isn't even violent or wrong unto itself; I was carrying two guns when we met. Look it up, per capita we are living in the least violent era in history, despite what the media and your chosen political party chooses to portray.

Les Misérables would be better if it wasn't a musical.

He's right. The world is still a nasty, brutal place, but at least millions of people aren't being killed, there isn't slavery (well, legal slavery) in North America or Europe, and so on...

I believe that the the human races whole struggle has always been to protect our children from danger and to raise them to the point where they can look after us in our old age, better than we look after our parents!

none of my opinions are "popular" because i have no friends that i have imparted my ideas to, and likewise in reverse, i never listened to the opinions of other people who spoke to me.

mostly i find what i see on TV to be cringeworthy. especially the ad's. they use children (who can barely speak) to advertise many types of goods that have nothing to do with children. i do not subscribe to the idea that children are a "super race".
it seems that most of the western world is groggy with admiration and envy of children. 5 out of 6 people will cry when they talk about children, and i can not understand why a child is more valuable than an adult.

if there is a news article about a car crash, they always report the ages of the children, but they do not as often report the ages of the parents. if people died in the crash, then the news will focus most on the children because that is what most people in TV land are interested in, and i do not know why. why are children's lives worth more than adults lives? is it because they have more lifetime in front of them, and so are more ripped off by dying than older people?

but adult people are fully alive too, and they have learned much more than children in their time. i never am moved to an emotional response when others talk about children.

It is better for a person to live as they think is right than to base their morals around religion or the law of the land. In fact, people should be ashamed rather than proud to call themselves law-abiding citizens.

f**k Texas. Seriously, this place is a nightmare compared to everywhere else I've lived, save for Florida.

This is an unpopular opinion among Texans.

I think some people on here just think they are autistic, because they watch The Big Bang Theory, so pretty much they are the same people as the fans of that show(people who think their nerds).

Cross-country skiing is a stupid way to move forward in a snow-covered forest. Ski-jumping is just as stupid as it looks. The most stupid summer Olympics event ever is men's 50 km walk.

Breaking into song in the middle of a film/play is really weird, I agree (though I have to say I've liked a few musicals).
