Unusual connections in the mind of Isabella the Synesthete:

1. I prefer music that has blue or purple notes, and this doesn't mean it is "sad" music
2. Every time I see my aunt or even think about her, I smell gravy
3. Odd numbers can beat up even numbers

In 1977:

1. I walked into school wearing what I thought was a “pimp outfit.” Of course, I was mocked.

2. We had a blackout in New York City; our electricity remained on, though.

3. I succeeded in coming into Manhattan, to hang out with other people “celebrating” the Blackout. I has a chance to meet a girl that day.

Nope, none of my family lives / lived in New York City. I've never even been to NYC; I would have gone in a flash if I had somewhere to stay!!

I have infinity cousins but the closest any of them live to NYC is North Carolina, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Montreal. (Also Vancouver, Northern and Southern California, Nevada, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Wales).

3. I think I heard about a huge blackout about ten years ago. Why would you go into the dark if you didn't need to?

We had a blackout in 2003. I had to walk 12 miles home from work.

The answer is #3. The trains weren’t working from Far Rockaway. Many people did “celebrate” the Blackout in a positive sense. Some people looted, though.

Many kids my age thought this was an opportunity to meet girls.

I would say #3 is false. I bet the even numbers can beat up the odd numbers :D

Nope, odd numbers are much stronger. They have that "middle" core for strength and stability (e.g., 5 = 2 1 2 ).
Odd numbers are also tough, cool colours whereas most even numbers are warm (wimpy, soft, sunsetty) numbers.

That sounds like a long, long walk. I have a recurring dream of having to walk from a certain x point to a certain y point and it takes days.

Oh, btw. My lie was 1. I do like blue and purple music but I listen to all colours.

When I was training for the marathon in the 1990s, I used to run the 12 miles from my home to work sometimes.

We have showers in the courts.

My favorite numbers are 2 and 8.

How are the dog and cats doing? Are they still cozy?

Female kitty: hasn't moved (lol)
Male kitty: still AWOL
Doggy: I'm tossing his tennis ball while I write

All good. Fish swimming happily, as well.

2 is yellow. 8 is red. They don't really go together.... (lol) but I do like 28 somehow.
27 is a cowboy hat.

My favourite number is 5 because it's blue, as everyone knows.

Sounds lovely.

I wish the other cat shared in the domestic bliss, though.

In 1981:

1. I got my present job.

2. I moved into my new apartment with my fiancée.

3. My mother got her Masters in Social Work.

My male cat gets in on the action at his own discretion. He isn't always aloof.
(Female: still sleeping, lmao).

You got your job in 1980.

You remembered!

I wonder what your kitty is dreaming about. They must be some nice dreams!

I guess the doggy and the kitties get along famously :)

They all get along, but my dog and female kitty are the closest bond. They usually sleep together (shhh... don't tell anyone).
My male kitty was bonded to an earlier cat who passed away and he's never quite stopped grieving :(

Things I need to do with precise routines:

1. Bedtime involves a litany of prerequisites longer than most college application forms.

2. I have to keep my books in alphabetical order, by author and title

3. I follow exactly the same "morning" routine each day (although mine commences around 2 p.m.) 8)

It's actually 2.

My books are grouped by author, but not "alphabetically, by author". Nor do I organize each author's titles alphabetically within their group.

#1 makes me sound terribly high-maintenance, but I've got it down to an art form where I can prepare for bed within approximately seven minutes because I keep organized and my bedroom is designed to suit all my needs. Travel is another story, altogether, but I can usually manage.

3 is true

Seven minutes is pretty good!

In 1990, at age 29:

1. I lost 45 pounds in 6 months.

2. I was mugged on the 6 train.

3. I moved to my previous apartment building in Briarwood, Queens from an apartment in the Bronx.

You've moved so many times you put me to shame!
I think 2. It was the 9 train, or the 27 train, or something other than 6.

Nope. It’s #1. I lost the 45 pounds two times—but not in 1990.

I’m glad you had a nice day with your bosom companions :D
