I heard about this. Horrible. First your national museum burned and all those cultural artifacts gone in an instant and now this crap.

I wonder how long it's going to be till he starts he throwing communists out of helicopters? Or really any of his enemies? But every single time something like this happens, I cry because I know millions of innocent people are going to suffer.

Me & my girlfriend found out a couple hours ago that maintenance is having a fire inspection tomorrow morning & the fire marshal is inspecting the day after. The property manager sent an email & he sent it earlier in the day. State law requires that they give 48 hours notice instead of about 15 like they did to us. It doesn't really give us any time to make sure the place is ready to have people over. Also we would like for me to be home when they come but Cass really needs to go to her psychiatrist tomorrow & I really should go with her to that. He does walkins in the morning 1ce a week. He schedules appointments a couple months in advance & Cass's next appointment is in about a month. She's been really stressed out lately which is making her depression worse. Plus we got in paperwork that needs to be filled out by one of her docs verifying why she needs a live-in-aid(that's what I'm classified as) & they gave less than two weeks before it's due. It's kind of impossible for us to have an appointment with her GP before then. Having inspections the next couple days is NOT helping her stress. Cass spent the weekend visiting a family member & came back this morning. She was really planning on having Wednesday as an off day instead of waiting around for the fire marshal to come. It also means she has to be up earlier when she would normally be asleep in the morning. The old property manager & the one before him would mail us notices at least a few days before they came over. Each property manager is worse than the one before here. They've been trying to sell the place for the last few years. We really NEED to move out of here & are trying to but the process is complicated & stressful.

I smelled 3rd hand smoke.
And, wondered why people don't quit something so harmful over time.

I second that. I was at a big bus stop downtown yesterday and I hate the smoke.

Cass went to her psych & I waited around for maintenance or whoever to do the fire check. Cass did a walkin 1ce before & we waited around for a few hours. The health center is just down the road so I planned to meet her there 1ce maintenance left. Cass came back a couple hours later & maintenance hadn't shown up. Her appointment went OK. They decided for her to go off her SSRI antidepressant cuz it wasn't helping much & has some side-effects. She's just been on it kind of as a safety while trying other meds. Her psych suggested she try the one SSRI left that she hadn't tried. I was thinking it might be a good idea for her to try that. I've been through a bad psychotic depression YEARS ago. The meds helped hold me together but I didn't feel truly better till I got off them. I was having some problems a couple years later & researched meds to treat them & got my GP to prescribe them. The meds helped & I'm still on them. I added a couple meds since then too thou. Since i've had good luck kinda treating myself, I try to help treat Cass. I know her better than her psych in some ways so I make suggestions & give input when she's unsure as to what to do; her psych makes suggestions & she has to decide. Anyways... getting back to Cass's appointment today, I had suggested that med to her before so she decided to switch. I'm really hoping it works better for her. We kind of waited alittle just incase someone would show up after she got home. She checked her email around 1 & the property manger had sent one around noon that the contractors who were supposed to inspect had schedule conflicts so they weren't cumming today but the fire marshal is still cumming tomorrow. He also said he sent out texts but neither me nor Cass got one. We give our numbers every time we tell them about issues with our place. We never changed numbers since we moved so I think he's full of sh!t when he says he sent out texts. The property manger would not have these problems if he would schedule things a ways in advance. He brags about what a great manager he is but he acts like he's too busy to do a damn thing he's supposed to do in order to keep the apartments in working order. We had a smoke alarm that wouldn't quit going off a couple weeks ago & the fire department took it down & said the carbon monoxide detector is screwed up. I think the neighbors smoke that gets in here f#cks it up. We haven't gotten around to telling management about it because they would just send somebody to replace it without giving us notice. Cass hasn't wanted maintenance to randomly show up since she's been stressed lately. She's alittle worried that the fire marshal will fine property management & we'll have to pay for not telling them about it so they could fix it. She mentioned it in the email she sent property management last night when she asked why we weren't given 48 hours notice. She didn't get a reply to it. I'll just tell them it was taken down Friday night but I won't say which Friday so it's not lying from a certain point of view. I really should go take a nap now. Cass is already in bed.

^^^^ I am getting tired just reading about it.

I did not get any relief from my own health problems until I took it under my control, doing research and then making suggestions and finding a provider who would let me try. Good for you at accomplishing that as well. Good luck to Cass. I hope she feels better.

I know it was a lot to post & is tiring & confusing.

I'm glad you had good luck too 1ce you took it under your control. Thanx. I forgot to mention that she did get the paperwork filled out too so it's not like I really needed to be there.

Thank you all for support. I'm really unhappy with this situation. I grew up in a very good period of the country, I could notice the good changes and I got benefited by them – I got to the university, two decade ago it was something only for the elites, even if the public education was free, or a part of middle class of big urban centers, as the access was not only difficult by the exam itself but it was also expensive to take the exams or support yourself thru the university; I got even the chance to study abroad for free... and I'm not even considering the million of people who got the chance of having three meals a day, because I came already from a privileged place.

It really hurt me to see all this campaign so hateful against the Worker's Party (PT) , they did a lot of mistakes and wrong alliances, but specially Fernando Haddad represented the best the party has and probably one of our best politicians. See people acting so hateful towards them, electing someone who is clearly unprepared and hateful just because they hate PT so much made me feel really sad. It was widely based on lies and a false sense of patriotism and family values. How can someone who married 4 times, always a younger woman can be a guardian of familiar values? How can someone who made politics a family business can be an honest solution for corruption?

And with this, I'm not even talking about our new congress. We have an ex-porn star who abandoned a son and talked on TV about a time he had sex with a unconscious woman (also known as rape) as it was some funny thing between the 10 most well voted lawmakers. He was talking on twitter about one of his first ideas for laws is to "abolish human rights". This is obviously won't happen, but this people getting power is a sad sign of our times... they have no knowledge, no respect, no project for the country, nothing but hate.

During this campaign, 8 people and a dog were killed by his supporters, including an accidental death of a children who was in a celebration for his victory – people were playing with guns, a lot of his campaign was based in this gun fetish.

I doubt he will openly create a violent repression against his opposition, it will be a soft and hidden act. A lot of his hate is only rhetoric, but this is important as he sets an example. What worries me most is police violence – we already have alarming numbers about it, and he said several times how he believes that policeman who kills people shouldn't face any judgment (they already have freedom for in certain circumstances where they need to)... it will be a blood bath, and people will be happy with it. The same goes for small producers and people for reform agrarian.
