I didn't have enough space in my lil' tin can to keep him in a decent-sized terrarium, and I couldn't figure out a way to catch him alive, so I was left with option A. I felt bad about it so I wrote this little ditty, "my mouse murder missive"-
<><><><><><><>
i had to kill little mousey
i'm a big heel, feeling lousy
it was pooping and peeing all over the place
this wasn't something i could allow apace
so i put out a peanut-butter-laced trap
which in the wee hours stomped out its crap
in the morning i awoke, got up and saw
splattered mouse doodoo, a dead tail, a dead paw
sticking out from the machinery of automated mouse death
god help me, i'm a mouse murderer, an extinguisher of mouse breath
<><><><><><><>

Congrats! I just got mine in April so I remember the feeling (relieved, yet sometimes conflicted). There are many books on the topic of post-diagnosis feelings for adults if you are interested. I'm hopeful that you feel validated and strong. Yay!

Congratulations, I hope this diagnosis will be helpful to you.

My advice is to let your autistic brain process this information the way it needs to.

Starting new craft project: T-shirt quilt. If it turns out well, we might gift it to my older nephew when he graduates.
