Nope. I'm fortunate that my dad was a good dad, for the most part.

The Lie is #2. What prompted the separation was:

1. My father was sort of a dilettante.

2. My mother wanted to transcend her upbringing, and the notions of the limitations of her gender.

Are those both true, or do I select one as a lie?

They both sound plausible as I know your mother earned an M.S.W. despite her ownership of female lady-bits.

Both were true.

My father wasn't a bad guy----but he did sort of "play the field." I'm not sure to what extent, though.

1. My mother's parents didn't attend her wedding.

2. My mother lost her wedding dress when moving between homes. She believes she forgot it at the first house.

3. My parents were wed in the cathedral where my baptism later took place.

You're right. She did lose her dress while moving between homes, but she believes that the moving company men stole it.
(ummm?)

Her parents didn't attend because they were upset my mother wasn't staying in California. They said they couldn't afford to fly to the wedding but that was hogwash.

1. I’ve only attended a few weddings.

2. I was Best Man at my brother’s wedding.

3. I almost always like the hors d’oerves better than the main courses at weddings.

If I don’t respond, it’s because I’m on the train. I might not have WiFi at certain points.

3? I know 2 was mentioned before, and I have a feeling 1 is true.

#2 is the Lie. My father just about forced him to make me an usher.

As a child, I:

1. I would get a foot-long string of floss, tie one end to a finger, swallow the other end with the aid of water, and pull it back out using the end I tied to my finger.

2. Stared straight into the sun, sometimes for several minutes at a time.

3. Shut my eyes and pressed on my eyeballs to cause a bit of a light show.

4. Would clench my teeth hard for a few seconds and release, causing a sensation as if my teeth were being gently pushed away from each other (upper molars away from lower molars).

One (partial) lie.

:( Was he your best man?

Staples I always have at hand:

1. Avocados

2. Lemons

3. Peanut butter

I had no Best Man. It was one of those simple weddings.

#2?

Hmm... lemons seems true for tea. Peanut butter would seem like a staple to have around being that it lasts much longer than an avocado would. I'll go with 1.
