I'm a 24 year old man who studies business at university and works in the deli of a grocery store. I'm currently still living in my parents house and seem to have accomplished little, but I want to change that.

Same Question?

I'm an idealistic 25 year old man who loves all sorts of things, and is kind of like a humorist.

Same deal.

What would you forsee in terms of positive progress for autistic people?

Positive progress would be ASD people standing up for themselves and making a name for themselves outside of the context of their autism. Like the model Heather Kuzmich, or that swimmer in the Paralympics.

Of course, all throughout history people with ASD, diagnosed or not, have been making a name for themselves. We just don't hear about it. It's like women in history - there were tons of badass women in history (Hildegard, I'm looking at you!) but you never hear about them because it's assumed that women were too busy being subjugated to do contribute anything important to society.

So perhaps the real progress would be when allistic people are honestly aware and sensitive of the difference between ASD people and non-ASD people. When nobody has to "come out" as having an ASD because it's something that we've accepted happens, and does not necessarily have to be harmful to someone's life.

Do you believe that people with Anti-social personality disorders undergo similar struggles to people with ASD? Please elaborate on your answer.

Yes and no. For people who are antisocial, deeply they want to be as social as everyone else, but can't really see themselves having a strong social circle because of the possibility they feel as if everyone else knows about them being antisocial, so people who have ASPD just avoid people in general.

What I mean by no is it would depend on the behavior of a person with ASPD, and how a person got ASPD in the first place.

Same question.

I'm not very versed in terms of knowledge about the question however, I sincerely feel that anyone whom deals with issues relating to social contact must find it difficult..
