An hour-and-a-half ago, it became official that we had 2 feet of snow. Al Roker just announced on "NBC Nightly News" that Baltimore had 19 inches----HA! I think his ruler's broken!!

Just now they reported that we have 2.2 feet (26 inches). It's been snowing for 28 hours, straight----I think it's safe to say this blizzard's outta control!!

One of our female meteorologists is pregnant----due any minute (tomorrow, actually)----and, is holed-up in a hotel by the hospital; stories like that make me sooooo nervous, but I think about how SHE feels!!

We're in "Stage 3 Snow Emergency"----that means there's to be absolutely NO ONE (driving) on the road, except for emergency vehicles (ALL of public transportation was halted yesterday evening, at 7pm----no Light Rail, subway, local buses, NUTHIN').

Other areas in Maryland, are headed toward THREE FEET!!

I gotta get outta here tomorrow, or I'm gonna go cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!!

Crappy. Could be worse like what they're getting on the East coast. Supposedly it's supposed to be 50 tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it.

I know I wanted some snow, but I now know the U.K won't be hit by any, I can start putting the snow shovels back.

I have here the latest update from our BBC News channel.

AP New York subway staff worked overnight to clear snow, the MTA says,

"Subway service has been restored to portions of the above ground network hit hardest by this weekend's record snowfall. Service will be limited as we ramp up and continue with snow removal operations.
This restoration was made possible by crews who worked overnight to clear snow and ice from rails, signals and switches. Some outages remain as crews, assisted by heavy duty snow equipment continue that work."

Metropolitan Transportation Authority of the State of New York .

Shepherdstown, West Virginia: 40.5in (102cm)
Germantown, Maryland (Washington suburb): 33.5in

Well, the whole true does seem benign and actively discouraging at the same time, when you interpret everywhere at a standstill and still have to consult the aftermath of it, is too much for words.

At least some women are able to pose in Times Square with a smile

Some of these look and sound oblivious to me

I wonder how you can walk to a war memorial cemetry when its caked in this much slush? :|

Five states saw 3 ft of snow and six deaths.

14 people have died in snow related incidents this far
NYC second highest snowfall since 1869, Bill de Blasio said.

Jesus US & Canada, you should get your butts down to the U.K. Our mild weather front is returning.
There’s snow on the Eastern front, floods on the Northern Front, cleanup on the Western Front and sunny down South. Record highs of 16c.

Qst- Is this due to Global Warming? Lets think, well we said it was, and Obama admitted it too.
When you make your next presidential selection, think long and hard about Climate Change.
Your better than China and Japan, you know it stinks. Its all about recycling and low fuel omissions.

Start recycling the planet!!

It looks like we're not due such a lucky escape here.

Storm Henry is likely to pick up force here in the U.K as from tomorrow.

More floods are to be expected in Northern parts of the U.K and the South will remain relatively dry. I'd say this is good but what if my family wants to move house?
I would say I'd stay and fight it out but I would be looking to buy an inflatable dinghi just in case the riverbanks do burst.
Disruption to main train lines seems likely. Poor old Scotland will take a battering I'm sure, with up to 90mph windspeeds. Hopefully Wales will be drier inland and Cornwall,Cumbria Dorset and the Isle of Mann will probably need their flood defences up. I know how bad you guys got beat up down there. Hopefully it won't turn into THE PERFECT STORM.

Practice Drill
Forget the cliche of Women and Children first. Grab everyone and tow them to safety.
This mainly applies to people in areas of extreme areas of downpour and coastlines.
